I often find myself questioning my eclectic taste and odd range of items in my closet… but that’s just it. My wide range of clothing choices is exactly what defines my personal style and what makes it mine.

In my recent survey, Brittany of Bookish Beauty mentioned struggling to fully define her personal style. In the hopes of helping you discover, develop, and define your style, I’ve put together 7 tips that have helped me hone in on my own personal style, and how I make better purchasing decisions because of it.

Stitch Fix February 2016

Ah, February. My favorite month of the year. Why do you ask? Oh, you know, it’s the month of my birth. And I’m one of those people that like to think my birthday is an excuse to celebrate all month long. That’s how I roll.

I guess it’s only fitting that I’d start off the month with a little treat yourself type of behavior in the form of a Stitch Fix! For those that asked last month, my new stylist is Lucy, and again she hooked me up with some great options! If you happen to be new to the Stitch Fix game, you can sign up, create a style profile, and a stylist will create a custom set of clothing and accessories with you in mind. Pick a date and you’ll receive your first box. A $20 styling fee will be charged once your Fix ships, and you can put that $20 towards anything in your box.

And if you’re not new, let’s get into it and check out the goods!

A couple of weeks ago when I launched my blog update, I asked for feedback regarding what kind of style/beauty/life content you’re looking for. There were some amazing suggestions and questions in there and I’m so excited to get started on posts that will hopefully cover everything. The first one is today! Angelica asked how to wear clothing to make your legs appear longer, so I thought I’d share 5 style tips to look taller. As a very short person (I’m 5’2.5″… and yes, that half an inch is necessary) I feel very qualified to cover this!

Everyday Contour Tutorial

Sponsored Post: Today I’m partnering with Maybelline and Collective Bias to share my looks to love just in time for Valentine’s Day. All opinions are my own. :) #MNYLookstoLove #CollectiveBias

Contouring is a makeup trend that won’t quit. For a hot minute, it was all about the strobing, but I’m back to seeing contouring kits and new products related to the contour everywhere! For a long time, I was mystified by the concept of contouring. Sure, natural shadows and highlights of the face make sense, but creating them with makeup? Seemed like something only done in the movies!

Definitely not these days, and with the introduction of so many accessible contour kits, it’s easier than ever to give it a try. Maybelline recently introduced the Master Contour Palette and honestly it’s one of the best kits I’ve tried. The shades of all three products in the kit go really well with my cool-to-neutral fair skin tone and for the price, the color payoff can’t be beat. Today I want to share with you how easy it is to add contouring to your everyday routine, as well as a peek at the brand new Maybelline Dream Velvet Foundation!

Everyday Contour Tutorial

First up, let’s dive into getting that skin looking prepped and polished. I used a daily moisturizer and then patted a little primer in my t-zone. I have some larger pores in this area that I like to make sure are all covered up.
