One Dress Three Ways for Spring

Stella & Dot was kind enough to send me one of their curated boxes celebrating their new summer collection. All thoughts & style ideas are my own as always. :) Some links in this post may be affiliate links, and I may make a small commission if you click and/or make a purchase.

The sun is shining, the temperature is rising… spring is in full swing in Seattle. It means that I can finally pack up my thick sweaters, long coats, and pack away my tall boots for the season. Well, mostly anyway. Inevitably we’ll have some storms and rain here and there, but for the most part I think we’re in the clear.

This weekend, it hit the 70s, and it was cause for celebration. I dug through my closet to unearth some color and stumbled upon this dress that didn’t get a ton of love over the past few months. I thought it was the perfect dress to style in 3 different ways as it’s simple enough to take on anything from a day at the park to a night out on the town.

Happy April Fool’s Day! No fooling here, just the typical Stitch Fix April 2016 review to kick off the month! ;)

I’m sure you know the drill by now, but if you’re new to my blog or Stitch Fix, it’s a clothing styling service that you can set up to receive monthly, or at your leisure. You are charged $20 as a styling fee that you can put towards anything you keep from your Fix. You can plan to receive five items – typically four clothing items and one accessory (jewelry or bags, typically).

Stitch Fix April 2016 Review

And, this month, Stitch Fix rolled out shoes as an option to everyone! I had mentioned last month that I had seen shoes in some Fixes, and apparently they’d been testing it out in waves. Now it’s here for everyone, so be sure to update your profile with your shoe size if you haven’t already. If you aren’t aboard the Stitch Fix train yet, now’s a good time to be, especially if you’re in the market for some cute new shoes! Eye Makeup for Glasses

I think I lucked out, because when I was diagnosed with nearsightedness, wearing glasses was considered pretty cool. I only had to wear glasses to be able to see the overhead projector in my middle school classes, and I often had to fight my friends for my glasses to be able to see. Those four eyes references? Never heard them, and hopefully if you’re a fellow glasses-wearer, you didn’t either.

Now at my age, almost everyone I know has, at least, some visual impairment. For me, glasses are also somewhat of a fashion statement. The options are endless; large frames, small frames, colorful frames, simple frames, or even frameless frames. I often find myself choosing outfits and makeup looks based on my glasses too. If glasses help you make a fashion statement too, you’re definitely going to want to check out the #VSPStyleSweepstakes video to win a style consult and a new pair of designer sunglasses from VSPDirect!

Neutral Eye Makeup for Glasses

One such makeup look that is my go-to is a neutral eye look with thick winged liner. The reason I like this look so much is because it allows my lashes and eye color to pop, even behind thick frames! I’m going to be using a variety of products in this tutorial, from drugstore to higher end, but feel free to use whatever you have already. The goal is to use neutral colors that flatter your skin tone. I have neutral to cool skin and blue eyes, so I chose my eyeshadow and face powders based on that.

How to Wear a Bodycon Dress (Even If You Don’t Have a Flat Stomach)

I don’t think it’s a big secret that I’m not exceptionally thin. In fact, long ago I even wrote a post about the struggle of being not skinny but not fat either. I consider myself an average body type. I’m right in the middle of the weight range for my size; I’m petite, but I also have curves, and I have style struggles just like everyone else in the world. If I’m honest, the biggest area that I’m body conscious about is my midsection. It’s not as flat as I would like and it never really has been. I blame puberty. And chocolate. Oh, and cheese too.

Spring Break Essentials

I think it’s known that I’m a little over the age of the traditional Spring-Breaker (and if we’re perfectly honest, even when I was that age I wasn’t really the traditional Spring Break kind of girl.) However, this year I’m looking forward to heading to Vegas with my friend Sarah for her bachelorette party. Is it weird that I’m already planning out outfits in my head and what spring break essentials I’ll be packing for the occasion?

Spring Break Essentials for Beach Trips // Hello Rigby Seattle Fashion & Style Blog

It’s probably because the weather has been so dreary lately, and that I’ve been looking forward to wearing spring outfits without a winter coat. (To be fair, the sun does peek out every so often, but mostly it’s rain and then more rain.) As much as I love Seattle, I could do with a little less of the awkward spring transition and more of the sun!
