7 Ways to Prevent Razor Burn

Sponsored Post: This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Schick, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #pmgschick #7dayshavechallenge #ad http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

I have a long history of battling razor burn and shaving rash, so I’m sure I’m not the only one that gives shaving the side eye from time to time. A few years ago, I picked up the Schick Hydro Silk Razor on sale, and my life was forever altered. (Sounds dramatic, but it’s true.) Since using it, I’ve not had a negative shaving experience. Sure, I’ve accidentally nicked myself here and there from not paying attention, but overall I’ve been able to successfully prevent razor burn.

7 Ways to Prevent Razor Burn

Recently I partnered with Schick and Skintimate to take the 7 Day Shave Challenge, and I’ve successfully stayed irritation free. The Schick Hydro Silk Razor hydrates the skin like no other razor and has a built in moisturizer to keep the skin feeling softer and smoother after each shave. I’ve found over the years that there are a few other ingredients that you need for a perfect shave every time besides the right tools. I thought I’d share those tips and tricks with you today so you too can be razor bump free this spring!

10 MORE Things to Know About the Shiba Inu Breed

It was about one year ago that I wrote my most popular post ever, innocently titled ten things you should probably know about Shiba Inus. I made a few Shiba owners angry, I had a lot of breeders write me messages thanking me and wanting to share with their pet clients, and I had even more people laugh along with me who own a dog just like mine. I also received a lot of emails from prospective owners wondering if I was exaggerating and if the Shiba Inu breed really might not be for them.

Now over a year later, I still get a lot of questions, so I thought it might be time to write 10 MORE things I think you should know about the Shiba Inu breed! Of course, not every Shiba is just like Rigby. Just like the humans that own them, each dog is a special snowflake with its own set of quirks, likes, and dislikes. However, at their core, Shibas tend to be pretty similar in that they are typically 1. aloof, 2. independent, and 3. irritatingly smart. These are the other things that I think you should definitely know before you consider getting a Shiba Inu for your family.

The comparison to cats is real.

As much as I try to deny it, Rigby is really quite cat-like. He prefers to be high up, surveying his kingdom as often as possible. You’ll often find him sitting on top of his crate, on the back of my parent’s couch when we visit, or peeking out the window. He’ll rub your legs to get noticed in the kitchen, clean himself after each of his meals, and let you know when he’s had enough of your petting too, just like his feline counterpart.

Daiso Makeup Haul

When was the last time you visited a Daiso store? For me, it had been about 5ish years since I’d been in, but after walking by a brand new one in Bellevue, it was calling my name and I had to go in. This new location was much less cramped than my last store visit, and I had no idea the treasure trove of cosmetics and makeup hiding inside!

If you’re not familiar with Daiso, it is a Japenese chain that sells nearly everything for $1.50. From ceramics to housewares to food to clothing items, you can find pretty much anything you probably don’t really need there. ;) It’s a global chain but in the United States is in Texas, California, and Washington. (Here’s their store locator if you want to do some further digging.) Oh, and the majority of the packaging is not in English, so best of luck if you don’t speak Japanese on figuring out what exactly you’re buying.

Daiso Makeup Haul

I thought it would be fun to try out their makeup and cosmetics. It was a little scary because as you’ll see in the photos, there are not many English words and I definitely do not read Japanese. Mostly, I was taking a stab in the dark and just grabbed items with appealing packaging. When I was checking out, the employee commented that the eyelashes in the gold packaging were her favorites, so I thought I’d probably be okay. To see what I bought and whether I’d buy any of these items again, read on!

5 Ways to Wear Your Prom Dress Again

It’s that time of year again… prom season! Okay, yeah, probably not at all what you were thinking, but it’s true. I’ve been out of high school for so long now (almost ten years; my reunion is next year. Yikes that makes me feel old!) that I sometimes forget how important of a time it is for a lot of young women. Finding the perfect dress, getting your hair and nails done, getting ready with your friends, eating a fancy meal, and then spending all night long with your friends and maybe a special someone, it’s a high school rite of passage. It’s one of the first opportunities to do something special with a significant other, or even just a group of your friends, and be independent enough to make your own (hopefully safe) decisions.

March Digs & Duds + Giveaway!

Affiliate Links // The majority of items in this post were purchased myself, but if they were press samples, they are labeled as such. :)

It’s been a long time since I’ve shared what I’ve been buying and trying, and I thought I’d try to bring it back in a new format to recap some of my favorite (the digs) and least favorite (the duds) things in March. I’ve categorized things by type so you can scroll to what you’re most interested in (i.e. beauty, fashion, books, sales, subscriptions) and skim the rest.

I’d love to hear your feedback on this new format, or if you’d prefer to see more individualized reviews for some of these different topics, let me know!
