Do you have any trendy pieces hanging out in your closet that you swore up and down that you would never buy… until you did and loved it? Yeah, for me that’s culottes. It started with this culotte jumpsuit, then I found this one, and finally, I found this pair of culottes. I don’t know why it was harder for me to embrace this trend. Maybe it was that I didn’t have an idea of how to wear culottes. Or maybe it was all the extra fabric that scared me away from giving it a try. But, I did, and now I couldn’t be more pleased to have them in my life.

I was innocently shopping at Target when I happened upon these denim culottes. They’re made of a super soft, lightweight material called Lyocell, so they’re not your traditional jean material. But they look close enough, so let’s just call them denim. ;) Besides their softness, I knew they would go with everything in my closet, and take a standard outfit from blah to fun. If I were to have one gripe with these, it’s that they wrinkle so dang fast. I shot these photos right after I got off work, so sitting in them all day at my desk did a number on them. Womp womp.

Burberry Makeup Tutorial + Giveaway

Disclosure: Some links in this post are affiliate links. All opinions about the products are my own!

As much as I love a good bargain, when it comes to beauty products, sometimes a girl’s gotta splurge. One of the brands that I think is totally luxurious and most definitely worth the splurge has got to be Burberry Beauty. I first was introduced to the beauty line over a year ago, and since then, have slowly added new products from the line to my arsenal.

A few favorites? Most definitely the Fresh Glow Luminous Base, which I wear under anything from lightweight BB Creams to photo-ready foundations like my Makeup Forever HD. For a little hint of color and subtle contour, I also love the Light Glow Blush in Earthy. And the colors? Divine. The Burberry Kisses Lipstick in No. 85 Sepia is the perfect mauve my-lips-but-better color. Military Red is the perfect classic red lipstick, and Oxblood is the perfect dark red for fall and winter.

5 Ways to Cope with Moving Stress

I feel like all that I’ve had to talk about recently is moving. I moved several times every year through college, but I never realized how much different it is to move as a settled adult. Let’s just say it was way more work than I ever expected, plus all of the complications that came with trying to prepare a home for sale. Basically, it felt like everything was going wrong and when you’re someone who likes to be in control, this can be challenging.

Tips for Preventing Moving Stress // Hello Rigby Seattle Lifestyle Blog

For the record, our move involved several processes. The first was moving out all of our personal items to prepare for sale. Then, we went back in and worked on several repairs that we had been putting off, like installing new flooring in our laundry area, painting areas that had been damaged, and more obnoxiously minor (yet time-consuming!) tasks. The last process was moving ourselves out, and into our new temporary place while the condo was on the market. Lucky for us, it sold in 4 days. However, it also came with an incredibly short closing time, so we had to quickly get the rest of our furniture out that was left for staging and make some very minor repairs that were found during the inspection.

It’s no secret (well, I don’t think it is anyway) that one of my favorite pieces to live in all summer long is a romper. Besides the bathroom issue, they’re cute, comfortable, and come in a wide variety of styles.

How to Style a Romper

I’ve heard from a lot of people that they don’t think they can pull off a romper. To that, I say you can’t pull it off if you never try it on! ;) Really, though, once you find a romper that flatters your figure, I promise you’ll be sad you didn’t try it sooner.

Fall Fashion Trends: Oversized Boyfriend Blazers in Autumn Tones // Hello Rigby Seattle Fashion Blog

If I haven’t told you about thredUP already, it’s about time I did. I have been using thredUP’s services for about three years now. I discovered the company after a friend recommended trying to sell my clothes to them. They accept gently used clothing in exchange for cash or credit to shop. Every few months I clean out my closet, sell a few items to them, and buy a couple of new-to-me gently loved designer items. It’s a great way to add designer staples like handbags, shoes, and dresses to your wardrobe without breaking the bank.
