The 5 Things That Should Be On Your Holiday Gift List

I may be a little late to the game, but I’m just now beginning to put together my holiday gift list. I try to make a rule that I’m not allowed to start holiday shopping (even planning!) until the week of Thanksgiving, and typically don’t make my first actual holiday purchase until after Thanksgiving is over. Weird? Maybe, but I try to stick to one holiday at a time if I can.

What I’m Wearing

Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Pashli Satchel {on sale!}
Shoes: Top Guy Palm Lace Up Bootie via Nordstrom Rack

I’m probably a little old to be anticipating what’s under the tree, but at the same time, there’s nothing that brings me more joy than seeing someone enjoying a gift I’ve picked out for them. I by no means expect lavish gifts, which is why I’m all about treating myself during the holidays. It’s a stressful time, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who likes to treat themselves at least once to a nice gift.

Outfit Ideas for Thanksgiving // Cozy + Chic

Am I alone in being completely and utterly blown away that Thanksgiving is this week?! This year has just flown by and before you know it the holiday season will have come and gone. But, there’s no reason to get ahead of ourselves which is why I’m so excited to share some outfit ideas for Thanksgiving!

Chic Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas // Hello Rigby Seattle Fashion BlogDisclosure: This post was created in partnership with Fred Meyer. All outfit ideas and thoughts are my own!

If you’re anything like my family, Thanksgiving is a time to get together, enjoy each other’s company, and eat, a lot. I like to wear outfits that while cute, definitely do not accentuate a Thanksgiving food baby. What’s great about both of these options, while dramatically different in appearance, are both very comfortable for a long car ride, will mask any over eating, and are budget-friendly and are made up of Fred Meyer finds! (Find your nearest Fred Meyer store to shop these pieces.)

The Length of Dress Every Short Girl Should Avoid

Did I get your attention? Because honestly as a “short girl,” I’ve been told to avoid so many styles that I ended up loving that I want to debunk one major one. The style in question? The midi length. I’ve read and heard over and over again that wearing anything midi length (hitting mid-calf), be it dresses, skirts or pants, is sure to make my legs look short and stumpy, and my frame to look overall frumpy.

Ankle Boots: Steve Madden Pistol Booties via Nordstrom

Spoiler alert: I hate the idea that petite girls are told that they can’t pull things off, and no one needs that kind of negativity in their lives. The truth of the matter is that you can wear whatever you want. If you feel good, you will look good. And I also want to share how you can wear a midi dress and still look pretty dang cute this fall.

5 Must Haves for Your Fall Outfits

Whew. It’s been an interesting week. For me, it’s a combination of an exhausting week at work and of course, the election. I’m not one to get personal about politics but to ignore an event like that feels wrong. I’m sad to see the divide the election has caused and I hope we can all work together to end the hate from both sides and be kinder to one another. I will be doing my part to donate my time and energy to charitable causes that I personally believe in. I hope you’ll consider doing the same to build positivity in your community.

5 Must Haves for Your Fall Outfits

With that said, my goal in blogging is to bring a distraction from the outside world. To some, fashion may seem frivolous, but to a lot of us, it brings joy to a dark day. With that in mind, what better topic to talk about than fall fashion?! If that doesn’t bring joy, then I don’t know what will. ;)

3 Years + Thank You Giveaway

This fall celebrates three years of blogging. With Thanksgiving coming, I could think of no better way to kick off this month then by thanking you. When I started Hello Rigby, I had no idea what I was doing. While I was an avid reader of style blogs, I never thought I would be sharing my own outfits. I thought Hello Rigby would mostly be about my dog, but it turns out that as much as I love Rigby and being his dog mom, writing about dogs really isn’t what I’m most passionate about.

So as the months went on, I explored my interests in beauty and fashion, eventually landing on a combination of the two. What I love is sharing outfits that are attainable yet stylish. Beauty looks that are pretty but not overly complicated. And that life isn’t perfect, and that’s okay. For those that have been here since the early days, thank you for sticking with me. To those that have been here awhile, thank you too. And to those who are new here, thank you for visiting. I hope you come back!
