Winter Party Outfit Ideas

Love getting dressed up but don’t want to scream holidays? I feel you girl. I find that at this time of year, it can be incredibly hard to find much other than overtly Christmas or New Years type of dresses. That is exactly why I wanted to focus today on two winter party outfits that you could wear to any social gathering, on a date night, or even to work (depending on your office dress code, obviously!).

Winter Party Outfits

To start your winter party outfit, the first thing you need to do is identify your outfit’s story. Where will you be going, what will you be doing, and who will you be with? How does your outfit play a role in each of these answers? For example, if you’re going to be hitting happy hour and then going shopping for a girl’s night out, perhaps a pair of heels isn’t the best choice, and instead, you should stick to chic flat boot or a pair of ballet flats. Or, if you’re taking a weekend adventure up to the mountains but need an outfit to wear for a nice dinner, perhaps a warm coat is essential.

How to Wear the Velvet Trend This Holiday Season

The textures of fall and winter fashion are my favorite. From snuggly Sherpa to fuzzy faux fur, the comfort factor of these fun textured pieces makes them a wardrobe staple. But what about some of the other textures that are gaining popularity? From suede to velvet to chunky knits, the options are endless. My personal favorite as of late is velvet, and today I’ll be sharing how to wear velvet this holiday season.

Gifts for Fashion Lovers // Giveaway!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s currently snowing outside in Seattle (say what!) and I’m feeling the holiday vibes. Maybe it’s all the hot chocolate I’ve been drinking, or maybe it’s just feeling like I’m living in a winter wonderland. Either way, I couldn’t think of a better day to share my first gift guide featuring gifts for fashion lovers!

This year, I opted to focus on my favorite things in life (fashion, pets, beauty, and of course a general guide for those last minute shoppers like me!) and bring you a chance to win one big ticket prize from each one. I won’t tell you what’s coming next because that would totally ruin the surprise, but trust me, it’s going to be good!

Winter Hair Care Routine

I realized the power of hair and beauty products on the first day of the fifth grade. Sounds weird, right? But hear me out. I remember trying a sample of Pantene Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner from the newspaper on my first day of fifth grade. My parents have always been frugal. My dad was a grocer – he loved clipping coupons and finding a deal so I, too, have always been on the hunt for affordable, quality products. When Pantene reached out to me, I was excited to work with them!

Using that sample was my attempt at feeling more like a grown up, as to me, Pantene had always been out of reach. I knew Pantene from TV commercials, where beautiful women went from frizzy and lackluster hair to beautiful, long, shiny locks. I lathered, and I rinsed, and I conditioned, and I rinsed, and I went to bed hoping that in the morning, my hair would look just like those women on TV.

New(ish) in Drugstore Cosmetics // First Impressions

I can’t be the only one who loves creeping the cosmetics aisle anytime you find yourself at Target, or you know, on an intentional shopping trip to Ulta. Whatever. One of my favorite things to do is to peek at the drugstore cosmetics recent releases, and sometimes a few things catch my eye. Such was the case with the Maybelline Grafitti Nudes Palette, which was apparently released exclusively at Ulta.

When I saw it, I knew I had to see what kind of color pay-off Maybelline had up their sleeve. After all, drugstore cosmetics aren’t really notorious for highly pigmented eyeshadow palettes, so naturally, I had to try it out. Along with the Graffiti Palette, I decided to gather a bunch of goodies that I hadn’t used yet, try them all out, and take photos along the way and share my thoughts with you about them.
