Back in Black {Friday} + Shopbop Sale Picks

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you and your family are planning a wonderful holiday and that you’ll be surrounded by the people you love most tomorrow. Or, if not tomorrow, then sometime very soon! With our two extended families, we often split time throughout the long weekend with different families so we can be sure to see everyone.

And of course, I always look forward to getting some holiday shopping done over the long weekend! Shopping from the comfort of my own home is definitely more my jam then going out and battling the crowds. How about you?!

Giving Thanks with Rigby (+ Giveaway!)

Rigby turned five this week, and it reminded me, again, how fast time flies. I remember going to see Rigby for the first time and falling in love with his cute little face, his upper lip that poked out (because of his underbite) and his busy little personality. Dave and I knew right away that Rigby was perfect for us, and while he has been a struggle at times, he’s been one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Rigby was the cutest puppy, a little bundle of soft puppy fur. The night we brought him home, he was ready to explore everything. He even found himself in the reflection of the sliding glass door and got so excited that he began to yip and bark at himself. And while his fur isn’t so soft now, he’s not lost his vivacious personality or sweet disposition.

What to Wear for Thanksgiving 2.0

Is anyone else in total and utter shock that Thanksgiving is next week?! When I had that realization at the beginning of this week I almost couldn’t believe it. Before we know it, the holiday season will truly be in full swing and then we’ll be ringing in 2018. Time flies when you’re having fun, I guess!

Something I always try to plan in advance of Thanksgiving, other than what I’ll be bringing for dinner of course, is what to wear! Thanksgiving Day consists of traveling for a few hours by car, so I have a short list of requirements for my outfit. It needs to be comfortable for the car ride, it can’t be wrinkle-prone, and it needs to have some stretch and flowiness to hide a bloated belly. This girl loves to eat and Thanksgiving isn’t a day for dieting! ;)

The Easiest Way to Rock Athleisure Without Looking Lazy

Is it just me or is athleisure still trending all over the place? I️ honestly thought it would be one of those trends to disappear once fall hits, but I’ve been seeing the sneakers and sporty jackets all over the place. With the shift in temperatures here in Seattle, I’ve been trying to plan all of the cozy outfits. I️ mean, it was snowing last week, so the bare legs idea has been seeming less and less desirable anyway.

How to Wear Athleisure

Since the athleisure trend and the cold weather doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, might as well embrace it! My friends at Brooks Running are the athleisure powerhouses. While their Heritage line is sunsetting, their running gear is the easiest to rock from the gym or taking the dog for a walk (honestly, my favorite form of exercise!) to shopping, brunching, or even taking along for a full day adventuring with friends. I️ can’t help but want all the bold colors and patterns they offer in my closet and dresser. Something about the bright pinks, blues, greens, and other primary colors that they offer just makes me happy!

Don’t Forget to Pack These for Your Next Adventure

Is there anything more enjoyable than an adventure? Whether you’re traveling to a new place, or just exploring your own neighborhood, there’s nothing like getting lost and taking in the world around you. Take my neighborhood, for example. With the changing seasons, I’ve been enjoying getting outside more often, taking Rigby for a walk, enjoying the crisp leaves beneath my feet, and taking in what little sunny days we have left.

Recently our adventure landed us on the other side of the country, too. While Virginia was not a destination I had on my list or even on my radar, we have friends who recently moved there with their baby whom we hadn’t met. The opportunity to visit presented itself, so we thought why not?! Of course, then the extensive planning and research began… just a few days before we left. Nothing like a last minute trip to shake things up!

And of course, the packing. One thing I did know to bring? My trusty snack bars from goodnessKNOWS. They come in a variety of yummy flavors (my favorites are strawberry & peanut and blueberry & almond), and I love that there are four squares to a bar for easy sharing. If you’d like to try them too, use code 25HELLORIGBY at checkout on Amazon to save 25%!

What to Pack for a Trip

Otherwise, packing is always the toughest for me since I never know when I’ve packed too many outfits, or am being a bit ridiculous with the camera gear. For this trip, I planned complete outfits ahead of time and kept the equipment to a usable minimum. Curious what I brought with me on our most recent adventure? Read on to find out!
