Traveling to San Francisco with Stitch Fix

Last week, I hopped on a plane and spent a few days in San Francisco. It was my first time in SF, and I honestly was so excited to visit the city. For years I’ve wanted to visit the Bay Area, but for whatever reason, I always ended up in SoCal instead. Conveniently, I was invited to attend Pinterest’s first-ever creator conference called in the making. Even better? I was going to be flying down with my bag mostly packed thanks to Stitch Fix, who provided the clothes for my trip!

Stitch Fix Review // What I Wore in San Francisco + Outfit Ideas!Disclosure: This post has been created in partnership with Stitch Fix. They provided me credit to purchase items in my Fix. Additionally, the links in this post are affiliate links which means if you schedule a Fix, I will earn a small commission. Thanks so much for your support!

If you follow me on Instagram, then you might recall seeing my Stories where I was packing my bags for the trip. Documenting the packing process was a lot of fun, especially since it’s often something I struggle with. A lot of you let me know that you struggle with packing – either overpacking or waiting until the last minute, too! I usually end up with too many outfit ideas, and so my suitcase often is overflowing. Yep, I’m that girl that has to sit on it to get it shut.

Fortunately, this time around, starting with my pieces in my Fix cut down on my packing time by half. And I wasn’t tempted to overpack. Since I was pulling together looks based on key pieces I was sent, I had more than enough outfits (about 5). I knew I could also mix and match pieces if I changed my mind while there, too. If you’re jumping on a plane or traveling soon, I can’t recommend this method enough. Even better, when you sign up for a Stitch Fix by June 30th, and you’ll be entered to win a 10-item Fix PLUS a trip for you and your BFF here!

So what the heck did Stitch Fix send me? Read on to find out!

How to Have a Stress-Free Summer Staycation

Ever come back from a trip and feel the need to go back on vacation promptly? That’s about how I felt after returning from San Francisco last week! While the trip was enjoyable, it was really a working trip and left little time for any relaxing vacation type activities.

Don’t get me wrong, I am 100% not complaining. San Francisco is a beautiful city that I can’t wait to return to. But to say I was exhausted upon return was an understatement! And, returning home was basically go-go-go too – from heading back to work, then having a weekend full of events with friends and family.

That’s why I’m planning the ultimate, stress-free staycation for myself at home this weekend. With only a single item on my calendar (yay!) I can’t wait to kick my feet up and enjoy some of my favorite leisurely activities around the house and my neighborhood.

Looking for some staycation ideas you can do at home this summer? Here’s what I’m going to be doing this weekend!

Metal Allergy? Here’s How I Rock Jewelry Without the Itch

I’ve always been one to shy away from over accessorizing. While some women enjoy wearing many rings, layering on necklaces, and rocking an arm party full of bracelets, I’ve just found that for me, less is more feels right. And it turns out, it’s not just my personal style that dictates that. It’s also my metal allergy.

How to Wear Jewelry With a Metal Allergy
Disclosure: Thanks to AUrate for providing complimentary jewelry that is featured in this post. All opinions are my own!

When statement necklaces were the hot new thing, I jumped on board fairly late. I bought a few and wore them a few times each. But really, it rarely felt like “me.” I love a good sparkle as much as the next girl, but truth be told, I’m actually allergic to most costume jewelry so by the end of the night I’d be accessorizing with red steaks around my neck from itching. Not exactly the accessory look I was going for. ;)

As I’ve gotten older, it’s become apparent that costume jewelry – the stuff you can find at mall retailers and discount stores – isn’t the best choice for me. The irritation of jewelry drove me so crazy that I began to think I was allergic to all of it – “sensitive” jewelry, silver, gold, even “platinum” ended in the itches by the end of the day.

Does this sound familiar to you, too?

Because it’s a problem I’ve heard numerous other women relate to, and when talking about it, they’ve had the same complaints as me! From the back of their watches to necklaces and earrings, a lot of us have metal allergies (called metal hypersensitivity) to cheap options like nickel, chromium, and copper.

I was confused about why even “gold,” “silver,” and “platinum” would bother me. Well, until I did a little research anyway.
