Red, White, and Blue Outfits for the Stylish Girl

Happy 4th of July week! I can’t believe the holiday is nearly upon us. Before everyone heads out to celebrate with friends and family, I wanted to share some ideas for red, white, and blue outfits, whether you love being patriotic or it’s not really your thing. Flag tees, in my opinion, should be a thing of the past, and instead, I encourage you to take a stylish twist this holiday by incorporating your favorite color, whether it’s red, white, or blue into your outfit!

Disclosure: Thanks to PrettyLittleThing for sending me complimentary clothing to style in these outfits. All opinions are my own!

Stripes, plaid, polka dots, solids, oh my! The choice is yours when it comes to what pattern, if any, to choose for the holiday. You can go subtle, or go bold. I opted to take two extremes – an outfit that to me, literally screams patriotism, and one that is more subtle and can be worn any day! Just add patriotic accessories, or not, and go!

Read on for more about my two red, white, and blue outfits!

3 Days at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco // Where to Stay, Eat, & Visit in SF’s Embarcadero Neighborhood

At the beginning of June, I set off on an adventure to San Francisco. If you can believe it, I had never been before! With family in SoCal, I had yet to make the adventure up to the Bay Area. With Pinterest hosting the in the making conference for creators, it was the perfect opportunity to visit San Francisco!

Disclosure: Thanks to the Hyatt Regency San Francisco for hosting our stay! All opinions are my own.

San Francisco is a beautiful city bordering California’s bay and the Pacific Ocean. With wine country, Sausalito, Alcatraz Island, and the iconic sights of the city like the Victoria houses and cable cars, there is plenty to do and see in the city, no matter what your interest may be. Shopping, food, drink, sports, arts, and culture can be found in nearly any neighborhood, and we were thrilled to stay at the Hyatt Regency in Embarcadero, which is in one of the most exciting and interesting neighborhoods.

Who can believe summer is actually here? Last week, yes. This week? Well, the weather is a bit confused about whether it’s almost July or if we’re back in spring shower mode. Random rain sprinkles at 2 pm? Eh, no thanks. I’d rather be basking in the sun, book in one hand, a glass of wine in the other.

Short Hair, Don’t Care… One Year Later // 5 Things Cutting My Hair Taught Me About Myself

Just over a year ago, I chopped off all of my hair. Ok, well maybe not all of it, but it sure felt like it! What is craziest to me one year later is that at this point, having long hair feels so foreign to me that I almost don’t recognize older photos of me with long hair.

But a year ago, I didn’t feel that way.

Disclosure: The Style Witch did provide me a complimentary haircut and the conversation I had inspired during it helped inspire this post, however, I wasn’t obligated to write it. All opinions are my own! :)

Last year, you might recall that I wrote a post called Short Hair, Don’t Care. Right before we bought our house and moved, I walked into that salon, sat in the chair, and showed my hair stylist the top photo that comes up when you Google “LOB” and asked what she thought. We agreed it would be a good style on me, and off I went to get shampooed and conditioned.

About an hour or so later and my hair was feeling lighter. Much lighter. And I honestly may have had a minor freak out inside. And again the next morning in the shower. You know when you get a fresh cut and run your fingers through your hair? It’s usually one of the best feelings, but this time it stopped abruptly and I remembered again:

Oh yeah, it’s all gone.
