The Complete Guide to Shiba Inu Gifts // Gifts for Shiba Inus & their Owners

I don’t think it’s a big secret that I’m kind of a crazy dog lady. I mean, I did name my blog after my dog after all. But not only am I a crazy dog lady, but I’m also a crazy Shiba Inu lover, too. Shibas are such a unique breed with a variety of quirky behaviors and characteristics. It’s hard to summarize them in a word or two, and Shiba Inu owners are probably no different.

With Shiba Inu’s growth in popularity since the “Doge” meme, the Hachi movie, and countless Shiba influencers such as Maru, Menswear Dog, and many many more, it’s only logical that there’s been a growth in the amount of Shiba Inu merchandise available on the internet, too.

When I first got Rigby, it was nearly impossible to find much more than a book, maybe a keychain, and if I was lucky, a t-shirt or mug with “Shiba Inu” typed on it. Now, there are entire websites dedicated to making breed merchandise, and countless ways to source gifts for Shiba owners.

Shiba Inu Gifts: The Complete Gift Guide for Shiba Owners & Their Shibas

Today, I thought I’d make it a little easier for you by tracking down some of my absolute favorite finds from across the web. I tried to only select Shiba Inu merch from places I would feel comfortable buying from – Amazon, Etsy, DeviantArt, LookHUMAN, as well as treats and toys for the Shiba in your life that you can feel confident in giving your dog since they are Rigby approved!

Break the Style Rules for Thanksgiving // Black and Brown Outfits

Happy Thanksgiving! It’s become a tradition around here to share what I’m wearing for Thanksgiving. So why stop this year? When looking back at past Thanksgiving outfits, I couldn’t help but notice a pattern of wearing a color combination that’s heavily debated: black and brown. Do black and brown outfits work? Do they not?

Personally, I’m on team black and brown, which is why I thought it would be fun to share a few different outfits that incorporate this color pairing. Where do you fall on the style spectrum? Are you a black and brown hater, or do you think they can work together?

I’ll share my personal style tips when it comes to this pairing and you can let me know what you decide in the comments below!

How to Hygge This Winter

As I sit here working on this post, the wind is blowing away, the leaves making crisp rattling noises as they hit the side of the house. Earlier, the rain was falling gently, glistening in the fall sun. And me? Well, I’m inside, with my chilly toes hidden under blankets and a cozy pullover keeping my upper body toasty. What can I say, ’tis the season to get hygge!

But wait, what’s hygge? A Danish and Norwegian term describing a mood or feeling of coziness, comfort, wellness, and contentment, despite the long, dark days of fall and winter. It was all the rage last winter, and I predict we’ll see a resurgence again as the temperatures drop. From beauty products to candles to books, there are a variety of products for sale that capitalize on the concept of how to hygge. However, there’s also a variety of things you can do at home that will inspire feelings of hygge, too.

Today I thought I’d share a few of those ideas as the weather changes, the nights get longer, and we begin to transition our homes, wardrobes, and mindset for the holiday and winter months.

A Long Weekend in Oregon’s Willamette Valley // Where to Stay, Eat, & Visit

Known best as “Oregon’s Wine Country” the Willamette Valley is a 150-mile valley in central Oregon that is home to much more than just wine. It also happens to be where I spent 4 days back in September with a group of Seattle bloggers, Kate of All Things Kate, Emma of Emma’s Edition, Adria of Emerald Palate, and Marissa of Postcards to Seattle. As it was my first time visiting, I was grateful to have some more experienced travelers (Adria had previously visited last year) and the help of the Willamette Valley Visitor’s Association and Travel Oregon who put together an amazing itinerary of things to do in Willamette Valley for us!

Of course, we discovered some other gems along the way, too, and today I want to share more about this whirlwind of a trip. It was such a busy trip that I had people ask me if I even slept! Surprisingly, I did, and despite one 5 am wake up call for our hot air balloon ride, I felt refreshed and rejuvenated at the end of our excursion! Or maybe that was the facial… ;)

Either way, if you’re itching for a long weekend vacation read on for why the Willamette Valley should be your next destination!
