As much as I’ve loved summer this year, I think it’s about time fall showed up. Maybe I’m just getting a little burnt out on the hot weather (thanks, Texas), or maybe its how fast-paced this summer has felt… but I just am so excited to curl up with a cozy sweater, a good book, and some cocoa during a rain storm. I can venture a guess that in a few months when this actually happens, I will be dreaming of warmer weather. Grass is always greener, right?

August 19, 2014True Life: I’m a Fashion Blogger (on my off hours) should be a thing. Now that it’s getting darker earlier, I have to hurry home and get outfit shots done before the sun goes down. Tonight was probably the most embarrassing/ridiculous one yet. We’re driving home and I’m yelling, “Oh no! We’re losing the light!” Yeah, clearly I have issues.
What’s even more amazing is that Dave doesn’t even complain (as much) anymore about the photo taking endeavors. Bless him. Seriously. He even gave me a piggy back ride down the hill from where we took these photos so that I wouldn’t fall. Now that’s love.
I guess I should start planning ahead soon and take my photos on the weekends. Pretty soon we’re going to be into winter and then I’m really going to have issues. #BloggerProbz for real, though. Continue reading
Favorite Fashion Friday
August 1, 2014Happy Friday! I’m not sure why, but this week has felt like the longest one ever, so I’m thrilled it’s nearly the weekend. We’ve got a busy weekend mapped out to catch up with family whose birthdays we still need to celebrate (including Dave’s still!)

Before we left Lummi Island, we had to explore the beach! There’s a little private access trail right across the road from the Willows Inn, so after our breakfast fail, we took to the trail. This gorgeous beach was our reward… now if only Washington beaches weren’t so rocky! Ouch.
They are still pretty darn pretty though. I suppose that makes up for the 5 million rocks that made their way into my sandals. Continue reading
Floral Shift + Lummi Island

I’ve been blabbing about our trip last weekend to Lummi Island in almost every post this week, but I still haven’t really shared much about it (other than the lack WiFi or TV on the island) So, there’s that. But really, this was a fun little weekend escape, though I think both of us were thrilled to get off the island and back to civilization when all was said and done.
We departed on Sunday, which happened to be Dave’s birthday (and no, I won’t disclose his age. That’s not nice.) He didn’t know where we were going. This is our third birthday together, and each year I’ve surprised him with a mystery destination. It’s hard to up the ante, but I jumped at the chance to travel to Lummi Island after I heard about Willows Inn Chef Blaine Wetzel co-winning this year’s James Beard Award. Continue reading
