10 Favorites From the 1990s

We were shopping at Target today when we saw a NES hat. Flashback, right? While I didn’t have a NES, or even a Super NES of my own, but I sure did play it whenever I went to my friends houses. Super Mario World, of course, was my jam.

I thought walking down memory lane and taking a look back at some of my favorite things might be fun to link up with for Erica’s Listed Tuesday. So without further ado, my 10 Favorites from the 1990s.

1. The Spice Girls (1994) – Seriously, this is #1 on my list for a good reason. These ladies were bad ass, they had their own personas, interesting fashion choices, and were marketing gold. But unlike a lot of Pop stars, they seemed like they were always having fun and were pretty real. Regardless, I wanted to be just like Posh. No, Ginger. No, Baby. Okay, forget it, I wanted to be any of them. Continue reading

I’m not skinny, I’m not fat, and I’m okay with that

I read an article yesterday titled the 10 Struggles of Being Not Fat, but Not Skinny Either. I’ll let you decide. :)

one of my favorite things about “blog land” is the camaraderie around interests. mine tends to focus a lot on things. clothes and makeup, specifically, are my weakness. some people have booze, the gym, sports… not me, i choose shopping. shopping is my cardio. Continue reading

A couple of weekends ago, my friend Sarah and I found ourselves in Woodinville for a little wine and photography class. Yep, you read that right. Cork & Click Photography Classes teach photographers of all ages in the Seattle area, and while you learn, you get to sip wine. It sounds like the perfect way to learn if you ask me!

After discovering Cork & Click Photography classes, reading more about founder Christiana, and finding a great deal on Groupon, we signed right up!

Cork and Click Photography Class Review

Christiana of Cork and Click offers photography classes that are friendly to photographers of all skill levels. Some attendees had some photography experience. Others had never touched their cameras. And then a few of us were just a little rusty on some of the technical aspects and wanted to brush up.

We started off going over the basics like ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. I think sometimes we forget half of learning is to actually practice these things! As seen above, we did a fun little demo with pouring wine to practice shutter speed to capture motion.
