Getting Sweaty at City Sweats Seattle

Complimentary Service: Complimentary services were provided in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.

Have you ever heard of a… sweat spa? Because that’s how I spent my Saturday two weekends ago. I had my usual every-other-month facial, then popped over to visit City Sweats Seattle in the beautiful Madison Park Neighborhood where I was treated to a Lymphatic Drainage Treatment and Infrared Sauna Treatment. Just say yes to sweat, I say!

A Turtleneck Outfit… & 26

This weekend I’ll be celebrating my 26th birthday. It seems nuts that I’m going to be 26… I remember turning 16 and thinking I was so grown up and mature. I wasn’t, and I assume in about 10 years I’ll be looking back at 26 and thinking the same thing.

I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my 26 years, but I’ve also done a lot of pretty good things too. Starting this blog is definitely one of them. It’s odd to me how something that I started on a whim could change my life in such a (mostly) positive way. It’s draining, time-consuming, and exhausting, but when I get a compliment, a positive comment, or someone tweeting at me how much they liked something I shared, it still is thrilling. I only wish I had started this space sooner.

I am a Statistic

I am, unfortunately, one of the 1 in 5 college-aged women who has been sexually assaulted. And if that isn’t warning enough, let me put it bluntly: if you’re easily upset, this post may not be for you.

Faux Brie and a Broken Down Taxi: Bahamas Recap

Unpopular opinion time: I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was slightly disappointed by the Bahamas and cruising in general.

Bahamas 4 Day Norwegian Sky Cruise Review and Trip Recap / hellorigby seattle lifestyle and fashion blog

Don’t get me wrong, it was a beautiful place, full of sandy beaches, color, and sun (well, one day at least.) But I guess I had expected more culture and life. What you see when you get off the boat doesn’t seem real – it’s all set up for tourists. And as soon as you get back on the ship, they pack up and leave. When you walk by the stands owned by locals, you’re hollered at to come and look in their space of the Straw Market where they insist on trying to “strike a deal” with you.

French Toast & Pirate Ducks: A Day in Miami

I thought about doing one large photo dump… but I thought I’d spare your computer the heart attack of loading my 500 photos and split it into two posts.

I’m really not posting 500 photos though, promise.

If you haven’t been around here in awhile, I was gone last week on a trip to Miami Beach Florida, then boarded a cruise ship to the Bahamas with my friend and fellow blogger, Sarah.

Miami, Florida Beach Skyline and Water / hellorigby!

Our two days in Miami kind of ended up being only one day… we took a red-eye to get there Friday night our time, and ended up in Miami Saturday afternoon. We got our rental car, almost got killed driving on their scary highways (honestly, Florida residents, do all people drive like maniacs there?!), drove around to not find any street parking near the hotel at all, dragging our bags like the tourists that we were from the parking garage a million blocks away, and arrived at our hotel. We then did a little shopping, got some food, took a nap, got some more food, then watched the Seahawks game. At some point, we fell asleep and didn’t wake up until 2pm the next day. Yeah, seriously.
