Stitch Fix June 2017

I know it’s been a little quiet around here, but if you caught my last post on home ownership, then you might have figured out that this past month has been a little bit overwhelming. So much so that I think I’ve now come down with a summer cold because of it. Stress doesn’t do a body good, and if there’s anything I’m not the best at handling, it’s too many things at once. Oops.

There are some things in life that I welcome though, and lately it’s been routine. I was so excited to receive my monthly Stitch Fix shipment in early June and wanted to share it with you today. Now that we have some space in our house to take photos, I snapped some inside this time around. Let me know in the comments if you prefer the indoor or outdoor shots better! ;)

Lessons in Home Ownership (So Far)

Well, we’re about one month into home ownership, and already the word to describe it is “adventure.” We knew when buying a home that was built in 1965 we would probably discover quirks and unexpected things, and so far, that has definitely been true. I thought I’d give a little life update today about what’s been going on and why I’ve been a little MIA on the blog this week.

Lessons in Home Ownership (So Far)

And before I get into exactly what’s going on, let me say this: I am beyond grateful that we 1. found a home we love, and 2. are able to financially afford it and be able to make all of it work regardless of what happens. I can’t imagine what it would be like if we were strapped for cash, and that’s why I think it’s really important to have a long hard look at your finances before you decide to move forward with buying a house, no matter where you are at in the process. It sucks to give up on a dream of a magical house that’s outside of your budget, but at the same time, I’m glad we ended up buying in a slightly lower price point than we initially thought. It’s made all of what I’m going to tell you about that much less stressful. ;)

And if you like the outfit in this post, from when I was blissfully ignorant to home ownership, you can shop it here:

What to Pack for a Spring Holiday

Pretty sure that Memorial Day Weekend snuck up on me. How it already the end of May?! For me, it traditionally marks the end of spring and the start of summer here in the Pacific Northwest. And as soon as the temperatures bumped up a few notches here, the first thing I wanted to do was go shopping for all the summer things! Give me all the cute hats, swimsuits, cover-ups, and sunglasses. Add a dash of sunscreen, a cute beach bag, and a good book to read, and I’m set.

What to Pack for Memorial Day Vacation // Hello Rigby Seattle Fashion Blog Disclosure: This post is sponsored by Fred Meyer. Thanks so much for supporting the brands that support this blog! All opinions are my own. :)

Fortunately, Fred Meyer has all the essentials that I was looking for. They’re kind of my go-to place for anything; they’ve got groceries, clothing, housewares… pretty much everything you need to keep your life running smoothly. It’s kind of perfect to have a one-stop shop, especially when you’ve got a bit holiday weekend coming up and you kind of forgot about it. ;)

With that said, today I’ll be sharing some of my essentials that I found while shopping with a holiday trip in mind! But really, these would be perfect whether you’re planning a staycation or are flying 1,000 miles away!

Stitch Fix May 2017 | Stitch Fix Reviews

Well, it’s better late than never, right? I’m posting my May Stitch Fix review a bit later than normal, but such is life. April was a month of big changes, more on that soon, which meant sometimes other areas of life suffer. You know, adult problems. Anyway, a monthly delivery from Stitch Fix is always a welcome relief from boring adult activities, and this one is a good one!

Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Yesterday my mom and I set out on another Mother’s Day Adventure, this time at Pacific Place in Downtown Seattle. Knowing my mom and her love of window shopping, I knew partnering up with them would be a great fit! With so many great options to shop at for Mom, Pacific Place is a one-stop destination, with stores like L’Occitane, Chico’s, and Francescasr to delicious food options from Din Tai Fung, Pike Place Chowder, and sweet treats from Trophy Cupcake, you really can’t go wrong. Plus if you and mom are exhausted from an all-day shopping adventure, you can always kick up your feet and catch a flick at the AMC Theatre at the very top! ;)
