I’m pretty sure you can’t say anything about big lips these days without someone mentioning Kylie Jenner. Let’s be honest, that girl is the queen of the lips these days, from her lip fillers to her lip kits that seemingly are always sold out. And while I will probably never have lips like hers (after all, most including her will have to pay to have them look like that) I can most definitely fake that look with a few beauty hacks that I’ve picked up over the years.

My Thoughts on Tarte Cosmetics + Giveaway

When I asked what you wanted to see more of, many people have asked for specific brands of beauty products. Instead of some of my more tutorial driven posts, I thought I’d write this one more specifically about each product but still show you the final look I created with all of these products combined. Today, I’m going to be highlighting a brand that has been requested over and over again: Tarte Cosmetics!

Tarte Cosmetics Reviews + First Impressions

Tarte Cosmetics is a fairly new brand to me still. I discovered their Amazonian Clay Blushes first a couple of years ago and fell in love with the formulation. I later purchased a kit that also included the LipSurgence Lip Tint, Park Avenue Princess Bronzer, and the Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. It then was only a matter of time before I started adding even more from this brand to my collection. So far, there’s only one product I would absolutely not repurchase. (It has since expired, so it’s not included here. It’s their BB Cream, and I just don’t like it for my dry skin unfortunately. If you’re more oily, you would probably love it!)

For the most part, I’ve had wonderful experiences with the products I’ve tried from them and am excited to share with you a giveaway to try some of my favorites too. As a dry skin girl, my goal in life is to get glowy skin. Radiance doesn’t come naturally to my skin, so that means a lot of tender love and care is put into my skin every morning and night. It also means a lot of trial and error, because not only does my skin tend to be dry, but it is also sensitive and breakout prone. It’s the trifecta no one wants, because who really wants to be battling acne and wrinkles at the same time?!

Simply Straight™ Brush: Worth the Hype? + Giveaway

I’m not going to lie; I’m kind of a skeptic when it comes to hair tools that I’ve heard about from TV infomercials. I mean, remember that conditioner that apparently caused a lot of women to lose patches of hair? I never did hear the final outcome of that, but when it comes to things that might be too good to be true, it’s best to proceed with caution.

With that said, I felt pretty safe about trying the Simply Straight™ Brush. I’ve seen some of my favorite YouTubers try it out, with mixed results as to be expected when it comes to hair products, but no one had a truly bad experience. With a lot of heat styling tools, you have to account for your hair texture and length. If you have extremely thick, curly hair, chances are something that promises to work for ALL types of hair may not truly work for everyone. After all, I was excited by the promise that the tool wouldn’t flatten, fry, or damage my tresses.

Inspired Look: Demi Lovato Makeup + Giveaway

Back in December, I fell in love with a lipstick. Its name is Glastonberry by Charlotte Tilbury, and it’s gorgeous and totally not summery at all. However, when I saw a Demi Lovato makeup look on the recent cover of Billboard, I knew it was time to bring it back out. I mean, before we know it Fall is going to be here, so might as well be prepared, right? ;)

I was inspired by the makeup Demi was wearing because it was simple, yet glowy and had enough smokiness to be subtly sexy. It also gave me the perfect opportunity to use the Charlotte Tilbury Look in a Palette in Dolce Vita that I picked up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It wasn’t inexpensive ($75), but I’d been hoarding a gift card for something splurgey, and honestly, this palette is gorgeous. Unfortunately, it appears Nordstrom has sold out of this palette and I’m not sure if it will be coming back, but you can check at this link to see if it does. Otherwise, you could substitute your own makeup products that are similar in tone, or try Charlotte Tilbury’s Dolce Vita quad which is equally gorgeous looking, and has an additional glitter shadow!
