Natural Makeup Tutorial + Review // Giveaway!

It’s been about a year since I started using Juice Beauty skincare, and now I can say I’ve added their makeup to my arsenal too. While I don’t go 100% natural with my skincare or makeup products on an everyday basis, having options that perform that are kind to my body is kind of the greatest thing ever.

When it comes to what I’m putting on my skin (the largest organ of the body, after all) I most definitely want to put the best on it. For me, that has meant ingredients that do what they say they’ll do (mostly hydrate and provide anti-aging benefits at this point in my life) without costing a ton of money. I mean, I still need to have money for clothes after all!

I’d say Juice Beauty covers both my criteria with their makeup and skincare, plus some. I thought it would be fun to share a natural makeup tutorial for what I’ve been wearing for the past month or so on an every day, wear to work basis, and my thoughts on the products since I’ve been able to test them out thoroughly. If you’re interested in even more skincare reviews from the Juice Beauty line specifically, you can read my original review here. Be sure to read to the end to win a set of products to try for yourself too! :)

Burgundy Eye Makeup // Pur Cosmetics Get Ready with Me + Giveaway

Happy Black Friday! I hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you celebrate! Dave and I took off on an adventure over the river (well, Puget Sound) and through the woods to his grandmother’s house where we grubbed down on a seriously delicious spread. We’ll be repeating our adventure with my family later this weekend, and of course I’m looking forward to watching the entire Gilmore Girls revival, probably twice. Until I have thoughts to share about that (because I’m sure I will, like the last time I binge watched Gilmore Girls and wrote a post about it), I thought I’d share this fun burgundy makeup look I recently created.

If you click a link, I may make a small commission at no cost to you. All thoughts are my own!

I’ve been a huge fan of Pur Cosmetics since they first introduced themselves to me several months ago. As you may know, over time, bloggers are often added to PR lists where they receive packages from brands. While I’m not obligated to try the products, I try to give everything a shot and incorporate stand out products into my content. Sometimes, however, I hoard the products and save them up for one big post where I can tell you ALL about the brand, and so here we are.

Simple Office Makeup to Have You Out the Door in 10 Minutes

Do you ever feel completely frustrated when you see complicated beauty tutorials and can never quite get the same look as some of your favorite big beauty stars? Trust me; you’re not alone. While I love watching beauty tutorials on YouTube and following along to some of my favorite bloggers, sometimes the looks are just downright complicated.

10 Minute Office Makeup Tutorial // Hello Rigby Seattle Beauty BlogDisclosure: Thanks so much to Sephora Inside JCPenney for sponsoring today’s post! All thoughts and opinions about the products mentioned in this post are my own.

That’s why I’ve always focused on looks that are not only wearable but easy to achieve. When you have a full-time job and a thousand other commitments, spending hours on makeup is unfortunately just not possible. That’s why I love the ease and affordability of Sephora Collection products that can be found at Sephora Inside JCPenney. Creating a beautiful look doesn’t have to take hours, it just has to start with the right products! (And best of all, Sephora Collection products start at $10!)

Recently, Sephora Collection has created a series of videos as part of the #SephoraInJCP campaign that have inspired me to uncomplicate my beauty routine and focus on highlighting one feature in my look. In today’s tutorial, I’m going to be focusing on building a solid foundation using the Matte Perfection Foundation.

BeYu Cosmetics Get Ready With Me + Giveaway

A couple of weeks ago I ventured out in the pouring rain to Bartell Drugs in University Village for their Fall Beauty event. If you’re not a native Seattlite, then Bartell Drugs may not be familiar to you. It’s essentially a neighborhood drugstore that carries nearly everything you need, and also boasts a huge cosmetics selection. Think Pacifica, NYX, e.l.f. Cosmetics, plus all of your other drugstore favorites, and now a new European brand called BeYu Cosmetics.

BeYu is dermatologist friendly and is considered a “mestige” brand. They have prestige products at a middle of the road price. While a bit pricier than some of its competitors, I’ve found BeYu focuses on quality and durability over having an enormous amount of different products and shades.

BeYu Cosmetics Catwalk Lipgloss Review // Hello Rigby Seattle Beauty BlogDisclosure: Bartell Drugs provided me with a gift card to purchase some of the products reviewed here. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Today I thought I’d share a fun get ready with me video so you can see the products in action and share my thoughts about each one and how it performs.

Skin Care Myths That Are Preventing You From Having Perfect Skin

If there’s anything I’ve learned over the years, it’s that having skin that you love and feel good in doesn’t come easily. At least not for me. I started my skincare journey at the ripe age of 10 when I got my first zit. I never imagined that I would be battling acne all the way into my mid-20s, but I did, and now a new battle begins in my later 20s: preventing the signs of aging. Lucky me.

Skin Care Myths // OZ Naturals Serum Review // Hello Rigby Seattle Beauty BlogDisclosure: Thanks so much to OZNaturals for sponsoring today’s post. All thoughts and opinions about the products mentioned in this post are my own. Please note, I am not a dermatologist or esthetician so my recommendations are only based on my personal experiences and are meant to be taken as such.

Between trial and error, a lot of frustration, and maybe even some tears, my skincare journey has been a long and challenging one. But the best thing about having solved one problem (the acne) means that I can share some of the skincare myths that I believed for far too long and what I recommend you do instead.

Myth #1: I’ll never be able to have clear skin.

I thought this for nearly all of my teen years. I figured I’d have acne for the rest of my life. And honestly, I probably will get zits for my entire life to some extent, but the all over, painful cysts that I had previously are unlikely to return in full force. If you are still battling acne, I want you to know that it will improve eventually and even though there’s not one magic potion that I can recommend, treating your body and your skin with kindness will get you farther than you may think.
