5 Top Lush Products & Valentine’s Giveaway

I’m not that new to Lush, I always buy a bath bomb before we take a trip somewhere with a soaking tub. BUT, I never really bought into the hype about most of the skin products. That is, until recently. I had the world’s worst break out around Christmas. It had been brewing for awhile, but it really went psycho. I don’t know if it was the stress of all the things going on around the holidays, my hormones playing mean tricks, or what, but a few things that found their way under the tree from Lush made a huge difference.

5 Top Lush Products

Herbalism Cleanser: I have dry skin, so I try to avoid using anything abrasive… but the almonds in this don’t seem to irritate my skin. I wash my face once a day at night (you know, to remove makeup and all that fun stuff) and alternate this every other day with a gentle cream cleanser. Keeps the dry skin flakies at bay, and keeps my face nice a clear.

How to Get Perfect Curls with KISS InstaWave

I had the opportunity to try out the new KISS InstaWave Curling Wand through a promotion with BrandBacker. Being curling inept, I thought this device would be perfect for me.

KISS InstaWave Curling Wand Tutorial & Review / hellorigby!

I was totally right. This wand seriously rocks. There’s basically no chance of burning yourself (And I have… many, many times using a traditional curling iron) and I can curl my hair in about 5-10 minutes depending on how much of a perfectionist I choose to be. ;) I also have yet to get my hair stuck in this thing. I was seriously paranoid about it, but it seems to be basically impossible to really get it tangled in there. Trust me, I’ve tried. (Okay, not intentionally, but I have on occasion got a little overzealous with how much hair I try to curl at one time…)  Continue reading

A Big Reveal… & Giveaway

No, I’m not pregnant. But I did change-up my hair a bit. If we’re being honest, this is my first time ever getting my hair colored in a salon, and I was so excited when SEVEN the Salon reached out to see if I’d be interested in trying something new with my hair and blogging about it. The last time I had my hair colored, it ended up being a disaster after it faded and basically was orange.

Brown to Blonde Balayage from Seven the Salon, Seattle / hellorigby!

Disclosure: Hair services and products were received in exchange for this blog post. All opinions are my own!

I arrived at the Pacific Place location of SEVEN the Salon and instantly felt at ease. The hip salon offers robes to wear over your clothes to be sure you don’t get any hair gunk on them, complimentary beverage (they made me a Peppermint Mocha, yum!), and they spin tunes while you get your hair done. It’s a fun atmosphere, and different from most any salon I’ve ever been to.

10 Simple Makeup Ideas & Giveaway!

I’ve been a fan of makeup for… as long as I can remember. Almost. I think I was about 12 when my mom let me loose on the Avon Catalog, and I ordered blue eyeshadow (because my eyes are blue, so duh!) and pink lip gloss. I probably looked horrible, or like a child of the 80s… errr 90s, but I thought it looked good, so who cares, right?

These days you won’t find much blue in my makeup bag, but as you may remember from my what’s in my makeup bag post, you will find a lot of neutrals. I personally prefer a simple look with a bit of a pop – be it a statement lip or a little shimmer. So Rachael of The Rachael Way and I thought it would be fun to share our top 10 simple makeup ideas with you today!

What’s In My Makeup Bag, An Update!

Press Sample
Several months ago I wrote a guest post for The Grits Blog about what’s in my makeup bag. Some things have changed since then, so I thought it would be fun to do a little product update and show you what I’ve been using these days!

To be perfectly honest, my makeup bag changes often. As you’ve seen, I get enough subscription beauty bags and boxes to make me constantly change-up my daily products, but these items are things that tend to stick around month to month, and that I truly love. Read on to find out some of my current make up faves.
