Whole Foods Beauty Haul, First Impressions, & Giveaway

Product Sample: Complimentary products of my own choosing were provided in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own. :) Affiliate Links: If you click on a product below, I may make a very small commission.

I’ve been a Whole Foods shopper for as long as there’s been one in my area. Meaning… basically after I graduated college. One of the first things I did when I started shopping there was scope out the health & beauty aisles. I’ll admit that it’s been awhile since I truly took a look at their product offerings. Typically I pop in for my Dr. Bronner’s, sunscreen, and some bar soap for Dave, and then I’m onto the groceries.

That was, until, I found out about the Whole Body & Cosmetics sale that happened last weekend. Whole Foods in Bellevue invited me in for a little sneak peek and tour of their cosmetics and body offerings… and my list was scary long. I went in on Saturday morning prepared to conquer, and then had to stop myself from buying everything. Rough life, I’m telling ya.

So, what did I end up with you ask?  I thought I’d share with you what I’ve picked up, and my first impressions (considering I just got everything on Saturday) of the products thus far.

Beauty Empties: April Edition

Affiliate Links: If you click a link below I may make a very small commission. I paid for all of these products.

I’m not that creative. These Beauty Empties or “Trash Talk” posts are nothing new in the beauty community. However, there’s nothing like a review on a product that someone has used up, right? I figured I’d share some of the things that I’ve made it through over the last couple of months!

And speaking of beauty products… if you’re in the market for some new ones but want to score a deal, I just wrote a guest post over at Dear Friends blog all about it! From swapping to buying used (yes, really) I think I have a few ideas to make sure you’re not overpaying for beauty products, from drugstore to high end. Check it out here!

Happy Friday! I’m so glad the week is finally over (though I won’t lie, I know this weekend is going to fly by and that bums me out.)

Today I’m not going to be writing a whole lot because I have a new video! My friend Erica from Coming Up Roses had the idea to share our favorite Spring Makeup Looks, so I filmed mine and am sharing it today! I grabbed my new Too Faced Sugar Pop Palette that I picked up during the Sephora sale because the colors just scream spring.

Celebrating MOMents of Beauty

Complimentary Service: Complimentary services were provided in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.

My mom and I have what I consider to be a unique relationship. As you may know, I’m an only child, and I would say that my mom played the role of sibling in addition to mom. We fought, we disagreed, we had fun times, and we had… well, my teenage years. Despite our years of “difficult teenage behavior” I consider my mom to be my best friend.

I don’t know how many times my school friends told me how weird it was that I talked to my mom the way I did. What others considered talking back to their parents was just normal for me. I was always taught to be an independent and free-thinking individual, and I guess that carried over to how I interacted with her too.

Simple Volume Hair Tutorial

Sponsored Post: I am being compensated by Lunchbox in partnership with Suave Luxe Style Infusion for this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Okay, before I share this hair tutorial, you should know: I was not a hair stylist in a former life, so I’m no expert. However, being a bored only child growing up I spent a lot of time in the bathroom making all sorts of crazy makeup looks, taking selfies before they were a thing of my “work,” and doing all sorts of strange hair styles. What can I say, I was a creative one. Or a weirdo, whichever. Some of them still work, like my beloved top knot. (Sorry, this is not a top knot tutorial, but I promise I will post one soon!) Some of them, well, probably did not.

But something I’ve never been able to master? The french braid. I’ve had many different people try to teach me how to french braid, and for some reason I just can’t get it.

So, instead of doing one of those fancy french braid things that wrap around my head, or even fancier, the fishtail braid, I thought I’d attempt something a little easier, so I started with a simple volume hair tutorial, then created this super simple partial crown braid, and pinned back to add a little volume up front.

So, have a few minutes to spare? With the help of a few new products from Suave’s Luxe Style Infusion line found at Walmart for everyday low prices, I was able to blow dry my damp hair and get it styled in about 10 minutes. The perfect amount of time for me in the morning! ;)
