Day to Night Holiday Hair

Affiliate Links / Product Sample

Are you always pinched for time in the morning? I know I am, and when it comes to the holidays, I typically have even more on my plate and the last thing I want to worry about is making extra time to do my hair. For me, the important thing with attending any holiday party is for my hair to look polished and put together, even if I am rushing straight from the office. No one else needs to know that!

The struggle for time is real, so if I know I have an event to go to right after work, this day to night holiday hair style truly saves me so much time. It looks finished and salon-fresh without spending more than 15 minutes in the morning to get it. If you have the time between work and your event, spend an extra 5-10 minutes to add a little curl. Follow the step-by-step tutorial below to get the look.

Fall Eye Makeup Looks with ABH Shadow Couture Palette

Affiliate Links

I waffled back and forth about whether I was going to post these looks today. I originally was going to post this last week, and to my horror, realized that this palette became out of stock at every single store after I photographed these looks. What on earth are the chances?! So, with that said, if you like any of these looks, every shade is available in a full size for $12 at Macy’s, or 4 for $40 plus they also will throw in a quad to hold them for you. Additionally, Anastasia Beverly Hills has released the Self Made Palette, which is also limited addition and has a similar mix of warm tones and bold color.

I did, however, absolutely fall in love with this palette and if it’s still available in your local Nordstrom, Ulta, or Sephora stores, buy it. Buy it now. For $30, I think it is the best palette for the holidays – it has your warm browns, a pop of color in the Azure and Pink Champagne shades, and the perfect holiday vibe with Chic and Metallic.

The Perfect Top Knot Tutorial

Affiliate Links: If you click a link in this post I may make a small commission.

Let’s be real –  the top knot is not a new hairstyle. There are many iterations, even. From ballet to messy to hot cross (oh wait… that’s food) there are so many types of buns. My favorite? This top knot tutorial. It’s a little bit messy, but more importantly, super simple to create.

For me, the top knot is a fall and winter staple, and it felt wrong to write about it in summer. Sounds strange, but since it never gets that hot here in Seattle, I prefer to wear my hair down. In the cooler months, however, I often stretch out how often I wash my hair. Having a wet head when it’s chilly is the absolute worst!

So, the top knot became my go-to, nearly everyday hair style and now that it’s getting cold again, I’m happy to share my formula with you. I’ve tweaked it slightly because I know not everyone has the same hair type as I do (long, thick, & crazy) but it still gets the same look that you’ve seen in past outfit posts. Now don’t get me wrong – not everyone is going to like this look, and that’s totally okay. Feel free to do whatever kind of bun makes you happy. But if you like how mine looks, I promise it’s super simple to create! :)

What I Bought, Read, & Used Up: October

Affiliate Links: If you click a link in this post, I may make a small commission. I paid for all items in this post unless otherwise noted.

I think I say this every single month, but honestly, how is it already November?! October just flew by and was an incredibly busy month, hence why this is a little late! Being busy is always good for my wallet, as it means less free time for me to spend shopping. I believe my purchases (or lack there of) this month really reflects that as well. Without further ado, onto what I’ve been buying, reading, and using up recently!

Stitch Fix: I kept this cute plaid shirt that I’ve since worn a ton to work. It works great under a leather jacket for a night out, and it’s super simple to pop on for a day at the office.

60s Mod Makeup & Costume

With Halloween just a few days away, I planned one last costume that you could throw together at the last possible second, or use for a future themed costume party! It’s a Twiggy-inspired 60s mod makeup look, topped off with a couple of key pieces that you can either quickly make or already own.

DIY 60s Mod Makeup Tutorial & Costume

With no time to waste, let’s jump into the makeup look! When googling images of Twiggy, I noticed that her makeup often looked a bit messy and unblended. The  good news? Any skill level can create this look! There are a lot of steps you can leave out depending on what products you already own too.
