There’s nothing scarier than putting yourself on the internet. Wait, I take that back. There’s nothing scarier than putting yourself out there on the internet AND posing in a swimsuit while doing that.

I’ve talked before about being not skinny and not fat and being okay with that. And I am. I’m not ashamed of my size; I am not overweight and I am not underweight. I’m average. It’s fine. Honestly.
But as much as I appreciate my body and all of the great things it does for me every day, I still will never feel 100% confident or comfortable in a swimsuit. I can’t help but revert back to my teen years when self-confidence often wavered. And when I was in my teens, I definitely was shaped a little differently. I didn’t know how much that body could change in 10+ years. And that’s not a bad thing – it’s just a different thing.
And some of that is tied to the way my chest fits (or in most cases doesn’t fit) into your average swimsuit. I’d even venture a guess that some of that fear and body confidence issues with swimsuits specifically comes from an incident in a pool way back in middle school. My PE class would walk over to the high school next door once a year in the spring for the swim unit. I was a developing young lady and thought it’d be a good idea to wear one of my mom’s bikinis from the 70s (that were super cool, btw) to school for our free swim day. I had been a part of swim team for a few years at this point, so I was a very skilled swimmer and diver. When we had free swim we also had open access to the diving board, I thought it was a great idea to show off. I’ll let you fill in the details about what happened that fateful day.
Needless to say, my “wardrobe malfunction” probably scarred me for life and forever have I made sure I’m 100% strapped in up top. In more recent years, I’ve found it harder and harder to find anything that fits. I rely on one bandeau style top and a few one pieces I’ve found over the years, but was thrilled to find out about Lime Ricki Swimwear, who offer beautiful swimsuits that actually hold things in place.
And even if you don’t need that kind of support, that’s okay too because they offer plenty of other seriously styling swim options, especially if you’re a fan of the vintage or retro look. The fabrics and prints are so much fun, and perfect for summer. They also carry a wide range of sizes, from XS-XXL (00-20). Even better, Lime Ricki Swimwear has generously offered one swimsuit to one lucky winner (in the US only, sorry international friends!) Even if you don’t win, you can use code “HELLORIGBY” for 15% off through May 17!

What type of swimsuits do you prefer? Bikini? Tankini? One piece? Full body suit to prevent all possibility of a wardrobe malfunction? Happy Friday! ;)
I like a lot of them but I think I would get the Convertible Strap Umbrella Tankini Top and the Ruffle Wrap Cornflower Skirt w/ Bottom.
Great picks, Christy, and thanks for entering! :)
I have the not skinny/not fat body type too. I really love the Convertible Strap hibiscus eyelet tankini. I have a similar one from target, and it’s one of the few types of bathing suits I feel okay in public in! thanks for the chance for a great giveaway! ;)
Thanks for entering, Mickie, and good luck! :)
You are brave girl and look great! I prefer one pieces these days!
Aw, thanks Brittany! I do too! :)
the cinnamon geo looks like it has great support…i can’t do a halter. love the colors in your suit.
thanks,
b
Thanks B! Good luck! :)
I really love the rouched cinnamon swimsuit. That one piece looks gorgeous!
Thanks for entering, Kristyn! Good luck :)
Wow – they have a lot of super cute suits! I especially like the Shirred Halter Navy Geo Tankini.

Aw, thanks Olya! I love that one too – good luck!
You look great! What a terrible scarring from that childhood memory though. Haha I have plenty like that.
I love the ruched cinnamon one piece!!
Thanks Jaelan! Haha I know right? Glad I’m not alone. Thanks for entering, and good luck! :)
oh you look fantastic! I love that suit on you! I’ve definitely had the wardrobe malfunction plenty of times, I also know that if I’m hanging out with any of my guy friends, I 100% have to be strapped in haha!
Aw, thanks Kasey! Haha, that’s always a good idea! ;)
OMG they do great pattern mixing in some of their suits!! I haven’t heard of this brand and am SO on the hunt right now for a new suit for summer :) Fingers crossed I win!!
So glad you like the pattern mixing, Bri! Hope you win too – but if you don’t, Jenn’s discount code can get you a super good deal!

Great pick, Ashley! Good luck!
I am in love with the pattern on the suit you are wearing! Great choice. I’m in need of a new suit so I will be definitely taking advantage of that discount :-)
Thanks Abby! These are great – hope you’re able to find one you love!
I had a mishap when I was boogie boarding with my uncle once. I was 13. Worst day of my teenage life!!
Oh no! How awful!
I don’t think I’ve ever had a swimsuit malfunction but I definitely think swimwear comes with major anxiety. I think it’s awesome that Lime Ricki has swim tops that look exactly like my sports bras, that’s kinda perfect. And the rash guards are so cute! Thanks for sharing, Jenn. :)
Glad you found some things you like, Julia! Our rash guards are some of my favorites; they are so comfortable and cute!
I love those too! Glad you enjoyed the post, Julia! :)
LOL I may be old but I still love my bikinis. I will only wear a halter style top and I like a full bottom. I figure if the dude that camps beside us who is 60 or more and wears a speedo and a tank to cut wood all day, I can wear a two piece suit. BUT now with the lupus I am not supposed to be in the sun. I love the sun and summer and the beach ….
Haha! You go girl. And that guy sounds like he’s rocking it too. ;P That’s a real bummer about having to stay out of the sun, Lupus sucks!
I love the retro bralette in hibiscus stripe! too cute
I love that one too! Thanks for entering, Leah!
your swimsuit is beautiful and so is your body, you look gorgeous! I think everyone can have a killer bikini body, the only thing they need is a bikini.

The Color Palette
Aw, thank you so much Abril! You’re too kind!
I’ve used Lime Ricki for years because I have the same issue with bathing suits and my chest size-I love that they always hold me in and keep everything in place while looking modern and cute!
So glad to hear, Chelsie! Our mission is to help every woman feel comfortable, confident and of course, cute, so it’s amazing to hear the success stories. :)
That’s awesome, Chelsie! I wish I had known about them years ago!
I have never tried anything from Lime Ricki before but I would love to! I really like the Rouched Geo One-Piece. I like the simplicity of it!
Thanks, Samantha! I love our ruched suits – they are designed to make every woman look and feel amazing! Hope you can try one out using Jenn’s discount code!
Great pick, Samantha! Good luck! :)
The Shirred-Band styles are SO adorable – can’t decide which I like more between the Sketch-Floral and the Seafoam one-pieces.
Great picks! Thanks so much for entering!
I am loving the little peplum detail on this swimsuit! I’m so glad that you shared info on Lime Ricki, because I also struggle finding swimsuits that fit! (I have the opposite problem – nothing on top.) I have melanoma scars on my bicep and arm pit, and they have the most affordable swim shirts I have seen! I also love the Double Ruffle Navy one piece.
Thanks for opening my eyes to an awesome new brand!
XX, SS || A Little Seersucker Sass
I’m so glad you found our rash guards and fell in love with them! They are so comfy and even provide UV protection. Hope you got to use Jenn’s code for a great discount!
So happy you like their swimsuits! I do too, I already have a few more pieces in my cart… ;) And wow, Melanoma scars?! How scary, so glad you’re okay now!
My favorite swimsuit is the Shirred Band Seafoam One-Piece =)
Thanks for entering Aaron, and good luck!
I haven’t bought a new swimsuit for three years, I need one! I’d love to get the Princess Peplum Umbrellas suit.
That one is super cute! Good luck, Breenah!
The shirred band floral one piece is adorable!
That’s one of my favorites too! It is such a great cut – cute but oh so flattering! Use Jenn’s code before Sunday to get it before it’s gone!
Great pick! Thanks for entering Jen!
Looking fab in your swimsuit & I’m loving the cover up you chose. I had to laugh at you rocking your mom’s 70’s bikini’s – I totally did the same thing, and my mom was 5′ 2″ and I’m 5′ 7″ so they were pretty skimpy! I have no idea how they let me out of the house!
Annessa

Haha, I was wondering why my mom ever let me borrow it too! Oh well, teenagers… guess they picked their battles? Thanks Annessa! :)
You are so cute! I love your “Not Fat but Not Skinny” post because i can relate…even though I am a bit chubbier than you but still not clinically “overweight.” It is a struggle, even though it shouldn’t be! It does play with your mind.
But you are ADORABLE! And I love the outfit. xx

youtube.com/TheAnnainWonderland
Aw, thanks Anna! It really can play with your mind… even knowing that the majority of us are of normal and healthy size!
I still have issues with my bathing suit tops not wanting to stay in place. I like tankinis best for that reason. They seem to stay in place better than a bikini top. I can’t wear a one-piece because I have a short torso, so none of them fit right.
I’m sure the vast majority of women don’t feel comfortable in a swim suit. I don’t, and I have no real reason not to. I just feel so exposed.
One of the things I will miss now that I’m moved up to the PacNW is swimming. I get cold so easy when I’m wet that I can guarantee I will not be visiting any pools or the one waterpark.
Oh and if I win the giveaway, by some miracle, totally letting my mom pick out a swimsuit. She’d look fab in this one http://www.limericki.com/double-strap-navy-tankini-top/. She has the worst time finding swimsuits.
So amazing that you would let your mom pick a suit! The double strap navy is a perfect choice – so flattering and so supportive!
Aw, that is too sweet of you Stephanie! Best of luck to you and your mom :)
I totally feel you on the short torso problem – I do as well and have found it challenging to find a one piece! These are definitely cut much better for me than any other one piece I’ve tried before.
Aw, that’s a bummer – the water is really cold here so unless it’s a hot tub I prefer to stay dry too these days! ;)
Oooo… I love the rouched cinnamon swimsuit
Glad you like it Susannah! I love that one too. It’s so flattering!
Thanks for entering, Susannah!
My fave suit is the Cinch-Neck Block Floral Tankini Top & Classic Bottoms!
That one is a crowd favorite this year! You better snatch it up before we run out. :)
Good luck, Kim!
Lime Ricky’s swimwear is so my style! I love their tankini tops and one piece swimsuits.
Yay! I’m so glad you saw some things you like! Make sure you take advantage of Jenn’s discount code before Sunday! :)

Beautiful choice Kayley! I love our ruched suits – they look good on everyone!
I love that one too! Good luck, Kayley!
I’m too tall for one pieces, so tankinis all the way! I like the Double-strap Block Floral Tankini.
Tankinis are always a good choice! We updated our double strap suit with gold details this year, and I can’t get enough of it!
Thanks for entering, Crystal!
I think my favorite is the Ruched Cinnamon one-piece :)

I love that one too! Good luck, Jennifer! :)
I like the PRINCESS PEPLUM CINNAMON DOT TANKINI TOP with one of the matching bottoms

The one shoulder is a lovely choice, Lisa! It’s one of my favorites because of the removable strap and the supportive shelf bra!
It really is! Thanks for entering, Lisa!
Get it girl! You look great. I typically prefer bikinis but there are some really cute one-pieces that I like!
Glad you like some of the one pieces, Alanna! A solid one-piece is always a great staple to have. ;)
Aw, thanks Alanna! I used to be a bikini girl but there are so many cute one pieces these days too!
I love the SHIRRED HALTER NAVY GEO TANKINI TOP with matching or coordinating bottoms.

I really like the Color-Block Peplum Block Floral Tankini Top paired with Ruffle Wrap Navy Skirt w/ Bottom

Even though I recently lost some weight, I’d be scared to put a picture of myself on the internet too. You look super cute! My favorite is their Convertible Strap Umbrella Tankini Top with the matching green bottom. Due to my weight-loss, I so need a new swim suit for this Summer. Thank-you for this super fun chance. :)
Aw, thanks Natalie! A big congrats on your weight loss, and good luck!
I like the ruched floral sketch tankini
Thanks for entering, Madison!
I am so excited to see this giveaway you’re doing! I am due to have my first baby any day now and I have been wanting so badly to get a Limericki swimsuit for my post-baby beach trip later this summer!! Figured it might help me feel better about my post-baby body. ;)
I have been eyeing the Convertible Strap Unbrella Tankini Top with the Ruffle Wrap Seafoam skirt! Though, I’m torn between that one and the Double Strap Navy Tankini Top with the Swim Short umbrellas! So cute!
Also, love how you styled your suit! You look great!!
Aw, congrats on a new baby and thank you, Jessica! Both are great choices, thanks so much for entering and good luck! :)
Your photos are gorgeous, and you have amazing taste! I’ve never heard of Lime Ricki, but I definitely dig the way you styled your suit. I personally love bikinis, but there are so many cute one pieces out there, that I just might have to try one out for myself.
Thanks for the giveaway! I can’t wait to see who wins!
xx

PS: I’m particularly digging the Bralette Hibiscus Stripe and Surf Short Navy Geo <3 So many great options!
I love that bralette, too! Good luck! :)
Aw, thank you so much Madison! One pieces are so much cuter than they used to be, so I was excited to get to try one from Lime Ricki!
I agree posing in a bathing suit can feel uncomfortable even if you’re totally confident with your body! You rocked these photos girl and really styled the swimwear well (:
Aw, thanks so much, Jordyn!
you look stunning!!! If I won I would for sure pick a peplum one piece!
-Morgan

Thanks so much for entering, Tara!
I really like RUCHED CINNAMON ONE-PIECE.
Great pick, Holly! Thanks so much for entering!
I prefer a bikini, and am totally in love with the newly resurfaced high-waisted styles. That is definitely an area of concern for me, and I am happy that different styles that flatter different bodies are becoming popular again.
Thanks for sharing!
I love the high waisted styles too – I’m planning on picking up their floral high waist bottom since it’s so darn cute! Thanks for reading! :)
Anything with fringe is an A+ in my book!
Allyssa | Life with Lyss
Thanks Allyssa!
Oh my goodness! I definitely feel for you! When I was younger, I was in gymnastics. I learned how to do a round-off back-handspring, and the next day, I tried to show off at the bus stop. Too bad I landed on my head. Definitely not the same caliber as yours though. I also like to stay strapped in. I’m a bikini wearer, but not with just string ties. I can’t go strapless though. I don’t trust my bathing suit to stay on.
Oh no, ouch! That must have hurt! Haha, I don’t trust swimsuit ties or strapless either. I like to make double sure I’m all in there now! ;)
Love this swimsuit! I prefer one-piece swimsuits with full coverage now that I’m a little older (aka 21, not even that old) and in a relationship.
Haha, totally get where you’re coming from. I definitely don’t feel the need for bikinis either!
Don’t let anything bring you down because you look gorgeous in this post!
Aw, thanks so much Lauren!
I always feel most secure in a tankini! Partially because most of my pool days are spent nannying, I never feel like I am revealing too much, it’s great!
Tankinis are great for that! :)
This swimsuit is so cute! And it looks really good on you!
Anchors and Pearls
Aw, thanks Sydney!
