Can you believe it’s almost 2017?! I don’t know where the time has gone. I hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate, and were able to enjoy some time off for the holidays. I’m so happy that I have this week off work, and I’ve been using my time to plan ahead on blogging and vlogging things for 2017. Today I thought I would share what to wear on New Year’s Eve, no matter what you have planned!
What to Wear on New Years Eve
Sweater: Mackenzie Mock Neck Pull Over c/o J.Jill
Skirt: Pleated Gold Skirt via Target {Yes, this is a girl’s skirt. I’m wearing an XL, which fits like woman’s small but could probably also accommodate a medium.}
Bag: Urban Expressions Brooklyn Vegan Leather Clutch via Stitch Fix
Necklace: Kendra Scott Phara Tassel Lariat Necklace
Ring: Kendra Scott Boyd Drusy Ring
Shoes: Xappeal via Rack Room Shoes {similar under $100, similar under $50}
I went shopping a few days before Christmas, and one of my goals was to find a cute metallic skirt for my New Year’s Eve Outfit. Truth be told, we’re not doing anything super crazy for the holiday; our annual tradition is watching a movie while indulging in Ezell’s Fried Chicken. However, that doesn’t mean I don’t want to get a little dressed up, so I’ll definitely be rocking this cute little skirt and a sweater to keep me cozy. I finally found what I was looking for at Target, in the girl’s section no less! If you can believe it, this is a girl’s size extra large, and it fits perfectly on my petite frame!
Since I’ll be sticking around the house, I figured a cozy sweater would be the perfect match for this fun skirt. It’s been absolutely freezing (literally) lately around here, so while we do have the heat cranked almost constantly, I still need a few layers to keep me cozy.
To make the gold of the skirt pop, I opted to go for mostly dark accessories. Dave got me this pretty Kendra Scott Phara Lariat Necklace for Christmas, and I paired it with my Boyd Drusy Ring that I picked up during their Grand Opening. Kendra Scott just opened a store at Bellevue Square Mall, and I couldn’t be happier! They have some beautiful pieces, and I especially love their drusy line. All the heart eyes.
I also opted to pair my new clutch that I received in my last Stitch Fix from Urban Expressions in this outfit. Is there anything more festive and holiday-ish then a gold clutch? I think not, and this one is large enough to store anything I might need to pick up fried chicken in. (Hehe. Not really, but it’s cute and I loved it with this outfit!)
Finally, I also had fun with my makeup! The holidays for me are about bold looks that I wouldn’t wear on an everyday basis. In this makeup look, I used mostly ColourPop products (lips, bronzer, and eyes) and affordable drugstore brands for everything else. (Foundation, setting powder, and blush.) If you’d like to see how I got this look, check out my video tutorial down below!
And as I mentioned in my video, I also have a fun giveaway! If you’d like to win the ColourPop lip products, I used in this video plus the ColourPop Creme Gel Liner in Dirty Talk, then enter in the widget down below. This giveaway is open worldwide and will end on January 23rd at 11:59 pm EST. Good luck!

Happy new year! You look amazing! I especially love the lip color – I´ve been very into lipsticks lately!
I think it would be great with more makeup tutorials, but I also like to get inspired by outfit posts. I don´t think I´m very good at putting together outfits myself, so I need all the help I can get.
I’m always looking for cute tops longer in the back and shorter in the front, but not too short that pair well with leggings or comfy jeans that hide the weight in my stomach.
I would love to see a Valentine’s Day outfit next!
