I’m Baaaaacckkk & an Amazon Giveaway

Oh hi guys, long time no blog! It feels like I’ve been gone forever, but nope, just a week. I hope the gals that guest posted for me while I was gone kept you entertained in my absence and that you were able to find some great new blogs to read.

I’m not going to promise you magical things for this post, mostly because today was my first day back at work and I thought I was going to fall asleep by 11am. In case you are unaware, work starts for me at 10am. I wasn’t doing so well… then the coffee kicked in and I basically had ADD until it wore off around 4pm. So, that was fun.

Great Stirrup Cay Beach, Bahamas - Norwegian Cruise Line / hellorigby!

I’m still going through photos from the past week, but I will leave you with this gem from last week’s adventure. This shot was taken on Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas. It was the home of a really special sunburn on the side of my leg (like seriously, the most bizarre location and shape ever. I think I accidentally rubbed the sunscreen off while it was still wet… so learn from my mistake!) as well as fabulous drinks in coconuts with monkey faces. Yeah, you’ll see what I mean in tomorrow’s post. (or Thursday’s… I may or may not have taken way too many photos!)

And on that note, let’s switch gears a bit, as I’m participating in a $50 Amazon Giveaway with some other great bloggers! Get yourself entered to win below, and good luck!

Oh, no! We only stayed there for a week, but it’s been 3 weeks since we got back. Hahaha!

P.S. Thanks for “fixing” things around here. Hahaha! ;)

Sounds like you had a great time! :) I really enjoyed your guest bloggers’ posts too, btw- it was a nice variety of topics.

My favorite vacation spot so far has been Ireland (mainly because it was my first trip outside the USA and I had wanted to visit there since forever) and even though I only spent a week there, it left me longing for it. I NEED to go back ASAP and stay as long as possible. I also am biased but since I happen to live in a vacation spot (the central coast here in California), I kind of love it- there’s so much to see and do here and it’s a good place to visit if you want to get away from big cities for a while. :)

Aw yay, so glad you enjoyed the guest blogger posts! :)

AH, I’ve always wanted to go to Ireland… I was obsessed with it after doing a school report on the country and wanted to go so bad. Where did you go and stay when you were there?!

They really are rough. I’m still not caught up on everything both at work and in “blog land”! Amazing how much can pile up in a week! The sunshine and beaches were so nice, I only wish it had been a smidge warmer ;)

That first day back is a killer! Glad you got through it, with your coffee buzz!

Your holiday sounds amazing – I can’t wait to read more! We visited the Bahamas last year and had the most magical time. It really was just like a dream!

Other favourite tropical destinations of mine are Jamaica and Thailand! Amazing!

I love that I live in a good vacation destination sometimes because we just took a trip South to a new area and it was so relaxing. My favorite trip has been Ireland. We went to London too, but out of the two Ireland was my favorite. I’m still working on different posts from that trip! I like to split them up by category so it’s not picture overload but I think I’m on the rare side in blogland with that. Painful sunburns aren’t fun, especially if you think you’ve done everything to stop it. Hope it heals nicely. Coconut oil is what I usually apply to deal with that.

I’ll have to try coconut oil in the future, I was using aloe vera which just made everything I wore stick to it, haha. Ireland sounds like an amazing trip – I’ve always wanted to go and it’s definitely on my “bucket list”!

Ohhh sorry to hear about the sunburn. That happens to my husband every year. He’s very fair skinned, so he almost always burns no matter how much sunblock we put on him. You can always see the little spots that he missed or didn’t put enough on. He’s had some interesting blobs and spots. lol

Oh no, that sucks! I definitely try to be careful since I’m also pretty fair skinned, but apparently wasn’t careful enough. Oops!

I love the West Coast, particularly the beaches in Oregon! It looks like you had an amazing time on your trip, from your preview photo. In any case it looks much sunnier and warmer than it currently is here in the PNW!

Oh we love the Oregon beaches! We took a trip to Cannon Beach a couple of years ago for Dave’s birthday and it was so much fun. Ha, and true about the weather, at least on that day! :P

I went on that exact same cruise for my 21st birthday with my two best friends! Did you do any of the scavenger hunts or happy hours that Norwegian organized?

We didn’t! I think they did a scavenger hunt on the island but I never really knew when or where. As for the happy hours, we did go to some of the BBQs and shows, but we must have missed out on the HHs!

Haha, thanks Kati! If it makes you feel any better, the first day off the boat in the Bahamas ended up getting rained out. The sun came out as we got back on the boat! Sigh, rain follows us Seattleites everywhere ;)

Best vacation, I’ve been on a few. But I’d love to go back to the Lido de Jeselo area. It was where we stayed for the Venice part of our Europe trip. It was a beach community, the place we stayed, the owner taught me Italian and got me drinking wine.

I would also love to go back to Lucerne Switzerland. We stayed in an amazing hotel. Our room had a balcony and four sets of shuttered windows that opened up on two sides. We had amazing views of the Swiss Alps and Mount Pilatus. It was just so clean and serene.
