Ipsy vs Birchbox October 2014 Vlog

In the spirit of trying new things, I thought it was time to try a vlog out for my review of Birchbox and Ipsy this month! If you’re new to Ipsy or Birchbox, they are both budget friendly subscription boxes for beauty samples and full size products.

At $10 a month for each subscription, you really can’t go wrong with either, but I’ll show you what I got in each one, and tell you which one I thought was the best bang for my buck.

I think it’s worth trying… I did, and it does take a few months to actually get a bag because they have a wait list, but Birchbox is still my favorite.

Sounds like both boxes had great brands and variety of products – I think I’d lean slightly more towards Birchbox because of the balance of skincare and makeup products (vs makeup colors, which I have tons of!). I used to subscribe to Birchbox, but had to stop because I couldn’t use up all the samples I was getting (and I felt guilty about it)… :)

Totally know you mean, Lauriel! The samples sure add up quick. And agreed with you on the makeup colors – I don’t really use super colorful make up, so Ipsy tends to be a bust for me. It’s fun trying new things though!

Oooh! Those are great. I get the ipsy glam bag, which I love but I’ve been very tempted to switch (or add) Birchbox. Your Birchobox samples seem slightly better this month in my opinion! I loved seeing them both, thanks!

Haha, well what you don’t see happening is me yelling at my boyfriend to stop making noise or laughing at me… I feel super awkward just blabbering away to the camera and I hate hearing my own voice during playback!

I love subscription boxes and was thinking of getting one but I am just so unsure if I would like the stuff I get in there. Thanks for sharing the comparisons!!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I don’t always love everything, but I’ve found some really great products through sub boxes, plus it’s fun to try new things!

Glad you enjoy them, Emily! :) Birchbox is definitely my favorite between the two, but I’m having fun trying Ipsy every month too.
