Outfit Ideas for Galentine’s Day

You know what my favorite weekend activity is? Brunching. It made the top of my Valentine’s Date idea list and when it came to planning a celebration of all things Galentine’s Day, my friend Megan and I knew brunch it was! We set off to meet our friend Julia at Pomegranate Bistro in Redmond for a little blogger catch up and girl time.

It was a gross day; gray and rainy, but we braved the storm because when you wear a cute outfit, it must be documented! Fortunately, Seattle bloggers are used to the rain and are willing to do almost anything to get the shot. We didn’t come prepared with the right outfits exactly, but we made it work. Anything for the blog. Almost.

Galentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

So what goes into the makings of the perfect Galentine’s Day outfit with your gal pals!? For me, there are a couple of staples plus a few wild cards that went into this outfit. I thought I’d share with you today a cute and comfortable outfit that’s perfect for a date with your girls for Galentine’s Day!

Galentine's Day Outfits // Hello Rigby Seattle Fashion BlogWhat I’m Wearing
Tee: Sincerely Jules Lips and Lashes Tee via Nordstrom
Skirt: Pleated Metallic Skirt via Target
Coat: Sophie Shawl Fur Maxi Coat via Boohoo
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Love Velvet Crossbody {on sale for less than $200!}
Shoes: Madison 12 Hour Pump via Banana Republic {my pink pair is unfortunately no longer available, but a gold version is on sale for under $60!}
Bracelets: Hand Stamped c/o UnCensor Yourself
Rings: Mixed Midi Ring Set via Forever 21

So first off, if you’re not a Parks and Recreation fan, you may not know what Galentine’s Day is. (Admittedly, I didn’t know much about it either until the internet took it and ran with it!) Galentine’s Day is on February 13th and marks the “other half” of Valentine’s Day when you celebrate your gal pals, single or not.

It was Leslie Knope’s favorite holiday, and it’s quickly becoming mine too. As much as I love Dave, he isn’t always the type to be down for a date quite like some of my girlfriends. I mean, he loves to eat, but shopping and taking photos sound like his idea of a nightmare. And posing with ice cream? Forget about it. He’d probably be embarrassed. ;) It’s those activities that I turn to my gal pals for, who love it just as much as I do!

When it came to dreaming up this outfit, I knew I wanted to start with this graphic tee from Sincerely Jules. The cute lips and lashes print just screams Valentine’s Day to me, plus it is so whimsical and fun who wouldn’t want to wear it?! Graphic tees are also beyond comfortable, and versatile enough to be dressed up (like I did in this outfit) or down with a pair of sneakers and jeans.

My jewelry also added a little whimsy to my outfit. These bracelets were handmade and sent to me courtesy of UnCensor Yourself, who hand stamps quirky messages on adjustable rose gold bands. Mine says “I can’t even” and “Dog Lady.” Obsessed is an understatement! If you’re looking for a gift for someone with a potty mouth or who enjoys a good popular phrase like “Slay”, then these would be perfect.

I opted to add my metallic skirt in this outfit. Not only are Metallics super trendy, but it also adds a girly flair to an otherwise blah tee. Something about the way this skirt swishes around makes me feel festive and ready to have the best day. Plus, there’s no need to worry about overindulging at brunch as this skirt is very forgiving. ;)

I found my metallic skirt at Target in the girl’s section. Around the holidays, metallic skirts were a hot commodity, and most of my favorite retailers were sold out. If you’re petite like I am, it’s always good to be open to checking out other departments of your favorite shops. You never know what you might find! ;)

Is there anything more girly than pink? While I’m not necessarily about the colors for each gender life, I can’t help but admit I’ve been conditioned to think girly equals pink. If you don’t mind pink, might as well embrace it, right? That’s what I say, so go ahead and add a pop of pink! Be it lipstick, shoes, or bag; pink can definitely be a neutral (especially cooler tones like blush).

One thing I definitely love to do whenever I hang out with girlfriends is to get a little extra dolled up. I don’t know about your significant other, but mine could care less about makeup. I find that fellow makeup lovers are often much more appreciative of whatever new look I may be trying out.

You can see how I got this makeup look in my most recent video!

Finish it off with the perfect shoe

As much as I love a good sneaker or flat, when I want to feel extra feminine I go for the perfect pump. Fortunately, my favorites are also incredibly comfortable! These Madison 12 Hour Pumps from Banana Republic don’t hurt my feet and come in a wide variety of colors, patterns, and textures. I can’t get enough of these pink fur pumps; the texture is unusual enough to make them stand out without looking over the top!

      Haha! Seriously though, it was raining so much that by the time I got home I looked like I had showered. Gotta love a good PNW rain! ;)
