I got December’s Birchbox super late. I was surprised, because normally its one of my first boxes to come, but I didn’t get a shipment notification until the 18th, and then it got held up in the holiday shipping madness.
I was pleased with this months box. While it may not have blown my mind, I think it was a bit better than some of the other boxes I have seen this month, and contains products I will actually use. After seeing spoilers today for the February box, this is definitely one of the subs that I will continue with this year.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (24 Hour Miracle Cream) – So, hoping there’s no embryos in this stuff (I kid, I kid), but because this is a tiny sample I’m not really sure it can bring me any miracles. The texture is a typical moisturizer, not too thick, and not watery or thin. The upside I see is that it absorbs super fast, so if you’re one who likes to slather on moisturizer and put your face on immediately, this may be your jam. There’s not much smell to it, so it shouldn’t bother anyone sensitive to perfumes either. (Full price: $28)
Twistband Specialty Hair Twist – This is a cute lace print, and I can never have too many hair ties, because I lose them constantly. (Pack of 6, $12)
Mally Beauty Lip Magnifier in Nectarine – I didn’t feel like this made my lips look any bigger, but this product is really great for Seattle winters. It didn’t show off the fact that my lips were mega dry, and its much easier to apply than your standard lipstick since its more of a chubby pencil. I also loved that this was a full size, and would definitely like to try another color. (Full Size $20, comes in 13 shades)
Atelier Cologne Silver Iris – This scent made me feel fancy. No wonder, because a full size of this stuff is $175 AND comes in a bottle covered in genuine silver (insert eyeroll here). I loved the scent, its very complex, classic and sophisticated, but also a little bit fun. I would definitely wear this if it came in a smaller bottle with a lower price point. (Full Size: $175)
Toni + Guy Casual Sea Salt Spray – So this is my third bottle of sea salt spray. Somehow those people at Birchbox know that I’m dying to have my wavy hair back. I like this product – it seems to add some texture, its not sticky, and the scent isn’t terrible, though I still like this one better. (Full Size: $15)
Did you get December’s Birchbox? Love it? Hate it?
