10 Truths and a Lie

We’ve been out of town for the past few days, and I won’t lie, I’m exhausted. I thought I’d have all of this awesome energy when we got back, but I always, always forget how much traveling tires me out.

What I’m getting at here is that I don’t have it in me to write a huge post, so instead I’m going to share with you 10 truths and a lie. Are you game to figure out the lie?

Vacationing on Lummi Island / hellorigby!

An obligatory Instagram shot because, hello, I’m sure you want to see us vacationing! Real reason? I don’t have a good photo for this post. #truth

10 Truths and a Lie

1. I’m an incredibly adventurous eater. I will try (almost) anything once. If you had asked me about that like, 5 years ago, this would have been so not true.
2. Rigby is my 6th pet. I’ve had 3 cats, a hamster, and a guinea pig. Oh, and many goldfishes that barely lasted a night.
3. I’m not religious. I grew up going to a Presbyterian church with my mom, but I never really connected with it. Religions are super interesting to me, however I find myself more of an atheist. Just like I respect your religion, I hope you can respect my lack of one. :)
4. When I was little, I fell off of a house and broke my arm. My poor parents, it was just a playhouse in our basement, but I went around telling everyone about it, and strangers were horrified.
5. I’ve never had any sort of legal trouble. I’ve never even gotten a speeding ticket. I still have no idea how I’ve managed that one.
6. I don’t think I could live without cheese. But if I had to, I would probably be so much thinner. That and chocolate. Another weakness.
7. My first kiss happened at age 15. I was a late bloomer. Actually, that’s not really true… I just never had any mutual crushes.
8. I’m kind of afraid of the dark. I blame watching too much Law and Order and CSI growing up, but I’m always afraid someone is lurking outside our doors and windows.
9. I’m a certified bra fitter. I worked at JCPenney in the lingerie department before I went to college. That was interesting.
10. I’m an only child. No, I don’t think that makes me weird and awkward. Or maybe it does, I’m not sure.
11. I had my nose pierced for a few years during college. One of my biggest regrets is taking it out post-college. I still miss it.

…so which one is a lie? And if you can’t figure it out, share an interesting truth with me in the comments! :)

What a fun post!! I love learning all these things about you… gosh, this is tough. I’m going to guess #4? I don’t know about falling off a house, but that sounds TERRIFYING, if it’s true!

It’s definitely true! It was one of those little Fisher outdoor playhouses, and I was climbing on the roof with my older cousins. #5 was the lie – I’ve had two speeding tickets! :)

Of course not, I totally borrowed the idea from someone who had posted 10 lies! #5 was actually the lie, I’m definitely an only child. :)

I’m not sure if 2 is written that way on purpose or not, but if you’ve had 3 cats, a hamster, and a guinea pig before Rigby then he can’t be your 5th. For that reason I’m going with 2 (although I suppose you could have gotten Rigby before some of the others…). Otherwise it is 9…?

HA, you totally caught a terrible typo. That’s what I get for writing while exhausted. I fixed it, it was supposed to be 6th. The lie was actually #5, I’ve had two speeding tickets, and I worked at JCP when I was in high school and totally was a bra fitter. :P

I have no idea which one is a lie! My truth? I am usually nude in my apartment and I don’t really bother to put clothes on if I need to grab something in a room where the blinds are open. No complaints yet so either I no one has seen or I live in a community of pervs ;)

Of course not, I was inspired by someone who posted 10 lies, so I think it’s more than fair game! #5 was definitely the lie – good guess! :)

My guess is the nose piercing one…but I just don’t know! I’ve never gotten a speeding ticket either, though, so I’m hoping we can bond over our awesome speeding ticket avoiding abilities, lol.

Ugh I wish I hadn’t gotten a speeding ticket, but I actually got 2. Though I will say, both happened at 18 so it’s been 7 years! :)

The speeding ticket!! Everyone’s had one… right? Thanks for stopping by Bella & Bear. I love this post, I think I may have to adapt it as a game for a dinner party I’m throwing this weekend x

Yep, you’re totally right Emma! In fact, I had two. That sounds like a great dinner party game, you’ll have to let me know how it goes!

Hmm, I’m not really sure, but I’ll guess #7 maybe? Or maybe #5…even though I’d say that my truth is that I’ve never gotten a speeding ticket either! I’ve only been pulled over once in my whole life! I guess I have many years for that to change though, haha!

Jealous! My first car was a red mustang, so I got pulled over twice (and was ticketed both times…oops). So #5 was the lie ;)

Nope! I had my nose pierced up until I started my post-grad job (for some reason I thought it would be hard to get a job with it?) and I definitely fell off a playhouse and broke my arm. #5 was the lie! :)

Ohh, I have no clue. One of my truths would be that I regularly purge our house and can’t stand clutter anywhere. My idea of clutter is wayyyy different than anyone elses.

I wish I could say the same, but I get so burnt out from cleaning! I do try to purge at the end of every season though!

I kept thinking the last one was a lie but then I read the comments haha. I’ve actually REALLY never been in legal trouble or gotten a ticket so I was stoked thinking you hadn’t either hahahahaha not like it makes a difference but stillllll. Also, bra fitting…people hold odd jobs when you take the time to listen to what they actually do or did!

Haha, sorry to disappoint! I wish I hadn’t, but I was young and dumb and liked to drive fast! Definitely true about the odd jobs – that was probably the weirdest job I’ve had!
